Wow the crows must have been insane that last 5 mins and OT. Awesome win!

Lots of good and bad but whatever it's okay to enjoy a win that makes me smile this much

Even Trotz commented in his post game about how quiet it was, then how loud it got in the building after the 2nd Jets goal.

First time poster, been following here for about 5 years so don’t go to hard on me.
The blaming Laine for basically every goal while he is on the ice is getting kinda lame and people need to realize he is 19 learning the game still (players like shef, wheeler etc were still in college or junior at this age). The first goal was all Myers and another goal was a terrible rebound right onto the caps player stick ( hard to defend not knowing where the rebound is going).

Some quick thoughts:
The main reason why Myers was traded from buffalo was that he couldn’t handle the big minutes and we saw that today.
Little played a really good game especially in the 3rd but he is slowly declining and 6 more years after this year is concerning for cap reasons.
The power play seems to be lacking as the puck distribution is not quite quick enough and having buff take wrist shots that are head high is just killing the momentum and effectiveness of the power play.

I would keep Laine and Little away from each other as they have no chemistry.

Agreed. And Laine and Ehlers too, as their chemistry is off-ice. Scheifele is the only guy that has made Laine and Ehlers playing well together acting as a glue between them. So if ESL/LSE line is out of the question (as it is as Scheifele and Wheeler are playing together), you really should separate these two as well.

Put Laine or Ehlers to the first line with Scheifele and Wheeler and then put the remaining guy to play with Connor and Copp to the third line.

Laine -3 and under 14 min time...kid just struggling too much on 5v5 this season... is it atleast looking like he is figuring it out yet??? Fell asleep pre-game watching the hudricanes. Laine former wjc linemate looked incredible, sebastian aho. Im almost certain he has surpassed laine at this point, who would of known... atleast in some aspects allways impressed seeing that aho play. Time for a big game from laine. A hattrick would be nice....

I don't think people realize how exceptional Lowry has been this season. He just dominates the ice when he is on. If he was faster or had more skill or both he would be a superstar but I will settle for being a dominate 3rd line center

Lowry is 24, I gathered he hasn't focused his training that much on speed before last offseason so we can probably expect some improvements still? Skill probably is about what it will be, though.

I have been already a long time saying that Laine and Aho are the best young talents from Finland and was saying all the time that I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Aho becomes even the best of all the young Finnish talents. I do still believe that Laine will be exceptional when he enters his prime. But honestly at the moment I tend to think that Aho will be the best Finnish player in already a year or two. He is simply an amazing talent, and it’s amazing how some Finns have been even sleeping on him when not realizing that he is really an exceptional talent. I see a prime Zetterberg, or potentially maybe an even better player in him when he enters his prime. That dude has already got almost everything a great hockey player needs, and the more he still gains strength and experience the better he will become.

Mannnn was thinking about lines... and what about when healthy .
Perreault little roslovic
Connor wheeler armia
Laine scheifs ehlers
Copp Lowry Hendricks/petan/dano

Not in that exact order but could line match like crazy with these lines

I thought that it would get couple of more games by Scheifele so he can really come back, but I think it's safe to say he is Back! Still few rusty passes here and there, but two goals and look at that pass for Myers in that OT winner!

I am accutley aware. We are not the same team on home ice without Adam. The definition of a valuable role player.

I will add Jacob Trouba to the list as well. I realize he got off to what appeared to be a rougher start this season but was really rounding into form over the last 15 games again when he went down. Mostly in his absense I think we can see how tough it is to look ok being on the top pair. It can be a brutal role and “eating” those minutes that he and Adam do on home ice is pretty critical.

Okay it's been 10 pages without mentioning this guy, that's 10 pages long enough.

You know who impressed the bejeezus out of me this game? Josh Morrissey.

While the obvious "JoMo" nickname is surely here to say, if I were to pick one for him today, I'd steal Bret Hart's old nickname "The Excellence of Execution". I'm at peace when I see him with the puck. Like when he blew a flat in the corner and slipped, he calmly picked himself up and led the way. He had a hum-dinger of a chance to win in overtime too. The guy is the real deal. One of many young stars in the making.
You aren't reading all the posts then , check out post 120 . ;)

Wilson's "dirty" hits have some resemblance to a hockey play. Using your stick as a weapon into a guy's ribs is a whole different thing.

I haven’t seen Buff’s play on replay but it sounds bad. Is your board doing the same with Bowie’s Blindside cheap shot that knocked Hendriks out of the game because that was not a hockey play either.

Let he throw the first rock that has committted no sin.
