Last thought - Maurice coached a great game, but can we keep the team focused for the last minute of period please! how many last minute of the period goals have we given up?!

Roslovic and Perreault must be absolute hell to play against. Tenacious and skilled.
Wheeler was in a mood today! First he gives Munz $h!t pregame, then he drops the f-bomb post-game. Love it.
Heading into OT I was thinking "great Buff's in the box, he can't screw this up too badly from there". He played a great game tonight, just has a habit of overextending himself 3v3.
Scheifele, he has risen from the ashes of injury!

Any links to the post game? Guess they'd block it out. ** nvm found it.

Actual post-game x-ray of Tyler Myers.

He was heading for disease not cure territory early on. How we pulled this one out is beyond me. I can't believe we're over 200 posts in and nobody has posted the budgie.

Okay it's been 10 pages without mentioning this guy, that's 10 pages long enough.

You know who impressed the bejeezus out of me this game? Josh Morrissey.

While the obvious "JoMo" nickname is surely here to say, if I were to pick one for him today, I'd steal Bret Hart's old nickname "The Excellence of Execution". I'm at peace when I see him with the puck. Like when he blew a flat in the corner and slipped, he calmly picked himself up and led the way. He had a hum-dinger of a chance to win in overtime too. The guy is the real deal. One of many young stars in the making.

He was excellent. Rang one off the post, was instrumental in the tying goal, timely forays and crisp moving the puck.

So mad that I missed the end of the game. Ugh, what a comeback!

I said I didn't care if it was ugly this morning and I stand by that. No complaining about any part of this game from me, nothing at all.

So - why don't you just ask for 2 ugly points every game?

I'm not sure why its such a big deal that Moe is trying to make Laine and Ehlers more complete players by putting them in positions where they have to be responsible for driving and creating things. Challenging players makes them better over thwblong run.

It should be pretty clear that its easy to play with a top 5 to 10 C in this league. Maurice knows that Laine will score in bunches with Mark. But will using him in a complimenary trigger man role be the best for him long term, or will having him struggle a bit trying to be the main play driver on his line really open his eyes to areas of the game that he needs to improve.

The kid is 19 and still as a lot of development time ahead of him. The aforementioned Scheifele wasn't even in the league at his age and when he made it it took him 2 and a half years to work his way up to the number 1 C role.

Let Laine round out his game, improve his weaknesses and work his way up to that position. Imo he will a significantly better and more rounded player by the time he does. Patience.

The crowd reaction after Morrisey smashed the crossbar was great. And then the tying goal and winning goal. That place will be an absolute zoo if the Jets ever make a deep run. I don't think Americans really understand how crazy people are for hockey here.

Well, he would

really have it in Scheifele, but as we all know well, he just simply refuses to play either with him, although both of them have played their absolutely best hockey with Scheifele. Both of them are very offensive players and they both will VERY MUCH need a real playmaking center. It is horrible madness to see that some people even want them to play with Lowry. Just absolutely madness to play them with centers like Copp or Lowry, whom neither can do much at all of playmaking.

If the Jets seriously don’t want to play neither of them with Scheifele and don’t get another real playmaker center, then for God’s sake, even how painful it might sound, both should really be traded. They are a waste of the roster space if they are not wanted to play with their strengths and be helped to use their strengths in a way that could seriously help the team. Instead they are played with shutdown specialists in the 3rd or 4rd.

Just get rid of those young guys, if they don’t match what the Jets want from their forwards. Seriously neither are even right now any real defensive liabilities, but of course they are neither any defensive specialists or monsters and frankki even how much some of you seem to think that they should become that before they are any use, I just have to disappoint you and say that neither will ever be might better defensive players than they are now. They are not terrible with it even now, but they are just not great with it and they never will be. If you wanted that from them, you should have never drafted them.

Instead of being forced into playing in a more defensive line with a shutdown center they should be put in the situation where their offensive talents could be used as the best offence as it usually can be when the right kind of a dominating offensive line is created. If this is not what the Jets want from them, then it would be simply best to trade them. Sorry to say this, but it ould be in that scenario the best thing for all most probably.

Talk about a bit of an overreaction. Many coaches move great young players down the line up at times. The great Mitch Marker has seen countless shifts and games on the Leafs fourth line. It hasn't hurt him.

What Maurice is doing comes out of the stretch goal development school. They are putting them in situations a bit outside their comfort zone and it isn't always pretty but there have been times where Laine has taken games over on his own. He's a young player that is still working on consistency. The Jets are one of if not the best organizations at developing forwards I think you need to sit back and let this play out over the span of a few years. Laine won' be challenged near as much playing with Scheife and the org knows it.

They want more from Laine then 45 goal trigger man that can only be highly effective playing with one of the games best centers. As a fan of his you should want that as well. I get it' frustrating sometimes seeing players you like struggle or not being put in a situation where you think they would excel more. Maurice said it best, you could put anyone with Chef and Wheeler the way they played tonight. I know it might sound contradictory but Connor Is clearly down thevdwpth chart, he is used with Scheifele and Wheeler because he isn't at a point where the org can stretch him out like they are doing with Laine and Ehlers.

You can hear it in Bayek's voice, how much he was getting into it. And that goal call was epic. He was so excited he interrupted himself to get out "Myers scores!"

Laine and Ehlers have all the skill in the world. They can up their compete level, just like every other guy on the team.

The idea that they should be given premium ice time when they are refusing to give the same fight everyone else is giving, is CRAZY.

I'm a huge fan of these players, but it's frustrating watching them play at half intensity.

Laine has likely been shown a hundred times how to run his checking routes like the rest of the team does, yet you constantly see him late to the puck, or simply passing the task off to another forward.

Ehlers wouldn't stop and go, even though he has the best skating ability on the team but he was giving up on the puck constantly tonight.

Look no further than Scheifele for an example of a player who never gives up on the puck, runs his routes and has all the skill. He works HARD! Why should Laine and Ehlers be promoted to that level when you can get more out of others playing with Mark?

This is a learning process for Ehlers and Laine, but some consistency from Ehlers is expected now.

Roslovic knows how to play.

Trotz and I agree... credit for the win goes to the crowd!

Seriously, the end of that game was easily one of the top 3 loudest Jets 2.0 moments I've witnessed.
