DJ's results don't provide solid evidence that he knows how to get the best out of his players as a head coach. I can see him being hired as an assistant coach, but not as a head coach.

I think Staios will make the call, not Andlauer, who does not have a strong hockey background and has said he wants his staff to make and own their decisions.
I mean I watch games from home so I don’t pretend to know these things. I do listen to what people who do know things say, I including Staios, and it sounds different than what lots of folks in here think generally.

I finally have faith in the managing group from the very top down so I’m sure they’ll make good choices and I can not worry about having to make the tough choices from my couch.

The “wait for a new GM” excuse doesn’t work. If Staios is qualified to be our POHO and interim GM then he’s qualified to do the research to hire a new coach. There’s no excuse here.
It’s not about excuses, it’s about not wanting to. It’s about hitting an empowering each position to do their job.

Sounds like Staios likes DJ, so either or at this point.

The problem is you can't really go and make any big moves without at least trying another coach. It's like basic sports 101 to fire the coach at this point. They just have no choice but to do it before the season is over to properly evaluate personnel, and they might as well do it earlier when the team isn't basically eliminated already, since you never know.

I actually feel bad for the guy. The injuries and Pinto situation really suck, but it just looks like the same team with the same problems again this year.

Fourth lowest point % in the league once Pitts beat SJ tonight. How's Levshunov looking?

I’ve seen more “accountability” dished out by Cooper in the games they have played us the past few years than by the Gische’s of the team I watch every game.

I’m a negative poster today. I should probably meditate or something.

We dump it in more than almost all teams while being bad at converting (per random graphic someone posted). Why is that? Can’t be coaching…

whats sad is that i can 100 percent see a hard ass coach coming in here and demanding accountability and it destroying this spoiled pampered ass team.

This guy just has to be fired right? How many losing seasons are we on now and this one is once again starting to look like another losing season?

I just don't understand how the players like playing for him. Unless they just don't want to win and would rather collect a paycheck and not be benched for making shitty mistakes.

I've never thought he's been really close to a firing over the past few seasons, but I really think he is maybe a game or two away from being fired here, if the decision hasn't already been made. Especially after Brady's comments, that room is in desperate need of a fresh voice from someone who's been there.

Amen. What do you think the players in MTL liked more, Scotty Bowman or their consecutive Stanley Cup rings ? (Granted, they were stacked). I know, I know, players are different now but at the end of their careers, what do you think they will remember, winning games or liking their coaches ?

How about option C: the money?

A few of these kids are poised to make over $50 million in their career. A couple could exceed $75 million.
