I'd be pretty shocked if DJ were fired two days after Staios gave him his endorsement, even if it wasn't exactly ringing.

If something does happen it'd probably be a minor trade for a defenseman.

Well he did say he supports DJ because the players like him and they never cheat him on effort. Then they came out and cheated on effort for the second period yesterday.

I’m a bit torn. DJ seems to be universally respected by everyone who knows him and talks about him.

I wonder if it’s possible that he needs a few more years mentoring under a legendary head coach.

It sucks to lose good people from the organization.

Let him be an assistant in Belleville

For those who want Jacques back, I hear ya and I wish... But IIRC from the Wally & Methot show a year or so ago with him, I seem to recall he said he'd be open to getting back to the NHL but would not be fond of the traveling part of it (he's 71 now). Who knows, maybe he can still be convinced otherwise?

Sounds like an advisor roll to help mold the systems and maybe do player meetings at home.

Dump and chase would be a sick system if we had 12 Brady Tkachuks on forward, watching skilled guys like Stützle do it is painful though

Don’t have numbers from this season but last year Stutzle was at 76% carry in rate. Batherson, Giroux and Debrincat were 55-60%. Tkachuk was 48%. Bottom 6 players were much lower.

I'd be on board with Roy coming in. I don't even think he was a great coach but I think he's could give a kick in the butt the way this team needs.
Don’t know why people think he’s just someone that would kick butt. I compare the other Dj and Roy. Roy have be coaching 16 years and just two season bellows 500. DJ in his 8 years and just 3 over 500

Eh, I think he’s an NHL coach. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s snapped up by another club pretty much immediately.
DJ's results don't provide solid evidence that he knows how to get the best out of his players as a head coach. I can see him being hired as an assistant coach, but not as a head coach.

Also said, Julien and Roy at top of a short list

I think Andlauer is torn between Chiareli - Julien or Darche- Roy
I think Staios will make the call, not Andlauer, who does not have a strong hockey background and has said he wants his staff to make and own their decisions.

Megan Chayka - Sens 3rd highest dump-in rate in NHL, 7th lowest Expected Goals per dump-in

There's no doubt that this team needs a new coaching staff, but I want warn everyone that a coaching change doesn't mean that this team will win more games. There's a lot of work to be done with this group of players before they're ready to really compete for a playoff spot.

The team may not have quit on the coach, or tuned him out, but whatever he is teaching isn't working. Whether it's too complicated, or not the right fit, or whatever, we need someone else to come in where they actually believe they can be successful by following the instructions.

Anything is currently better than the same f***ing garbage we've seen for the last five years. f*** these players. I don't care if they love to sniff DJ's farts. They look lazy and complacent to start this season and I have literally no mercy when it comes to that anymore. They need a coach to kick their ass. I want them them to respect the coach, not love him. I want them to realize what it takes to play in this GD league.

DJ does not have a rope, it is a lit fuse and it will not be that long until it goes KaBoom. Maybe the team will roll on with 7 wins in 19 games here but I think not. Regardless of how good a coach may be, they all have best before dates.
