As a Leafs fan I would much rather see Matthews score 60 and make Leafs history, than to see Matthews score a few playoff goals and get eliminated in either the first or second round this year. Our goaltending simply isn't good enough for my Leafs to make a serious run at the cup. But if Matthews scores 60 goals, that's Leafs history right there and everybody will remember it and no one can take that away from us!So he has 3 games left? I think he makes it. Or at least I hope he makes it.
Still, at this point I much rather he sit's out if he's not 100%. Playoffs are about to start and Matthews career and legacy is so much more importantly defined in the playoffs rather than if he scores 58 in 73 or 60 in 73.
Are we back at adjusted goals being more important than actual goals?

This is assuming he plays the last 3. Last night Matthews was saying the team will wait until today to see if he plays, stating he wanted to play.I still say he scores. Benefit of the doubt - he did 51 goals in 50 games - he can do 2 in 3 games.
In fact, I'll say he finishes at 63.

So individual records are the top prize now? Darryl Sittler still gets you excited in 2022?As a Leafs fan I would much rather see Matthews score 60 and make Leafs history, than to see Matthews score a few playoff goals and get eliminated in either the first or second round this year. He may not hit it though since he doesn’t seem to be shooting the puck to his regular ability. I think he should sit out until the playoffs personally.I still say he scores. Benefit of the doubt - he did 51 goals in 50 games - he can do 2 in 3 games.

Has he tried eating fewer hot dogs?
Did that Get Gretzky or Kessel anywhere?
He did return but you get the idea that it'll be a nagging type of injury. This way they can see how it feels after last night's game before committing to the game for tonight.Im confused...didn't he return last night already? Was he re-injured? Or is he not 100% and may just sit/rest to recoup fully?
I assumed he wa just back.
People in the Leafs board were expecting him to hit 70 I got shit on when I said to get to 60 first. This site is something else. Why even make this thread? Let him hit 60 first.

LOL of course not, what a stupid thing to post. Didnt realize injuries were all of a sudden so rare or cold streaks never happened. Holy shit bud.Yes because you just knew he was going to get injured lol
This is why I always laugh at those threads about what pace someone is on or what they have done over two seasons.
50Legit question and not trolling or hating, but what is the FEWEST goals scored by a player in a season in which they did 50 in 50?
