No problem here by Rielly is he doesn't recognize that Matthew is about 2 strides behind Lindholm but could have put pressure on it. Reilly shouldn't have skate toward Lindholm and should have stayed with Gaudreau. Rittch knows he has the shooter and with Matthews applying back pressure he can square him up.

Reilly then does some sort of half knee down to stop the pass and it was brutal.

Reilly doesn't know how to play 2 on 1's and it has been evident for this whole season.

This may be the most ridiculously nonsensical thing Ive read tonight.
Rielly had Lindholm, Matthews should have taken Gaudreau. There was no reason for him to go cover Lindholm when Rielly already had him.

And then Rielly took the man instead of the pass which he does often. All around terrible by all 3 players

Rielly has to chose one them after that double-forward-gamble, and Matthews is closer to Gaudreau. Rielly takes Lindholm, which IMO is reasonable because Matthews should have been able to stick with Gaudreau. But Matthews plays it lazy, skates back slowly and doesn't really take either of them, so it becomes a 2-on-1.
