Starting to see Roslovic as an anchor on the second line. Maybe when Perrault gets back he goes there.

Second line was off their game tonight - but I wouldn't be calling any of them anchors after one game.

Helle starting to regress is a bad sign for the Jets. Can't expect them to score 4 a game.
Yeah if it was just this one game I wouldn’t worry but it’s been the last few games that he’s been mediocre to average. Ruh roh Scooby!

Tonight showed how much Ehlers can carry a line and he was off all night. Think some tweaking may be needed with the lines. There’s not really any other options over Roslovic right now. Can’t get too low on him. He’s still pretty young.

Our other 5 top forwards... Scheif, Connor, Laine, Ehlers, Wheeler were getting callouts constantly in the play-by-play - each having a fair amount of possession, trying to make plays happen (even if they weren't clicking) and just being... noticeable. At some point in the third I noticed I hadn't heard 'Roslovic' in a awhile or even recall him touching the puck for the last two periods.

The Jets put out their 5 best forwards when they pulled Bucky to tie the game, and Rosie was not one of them. If he can just up his game another level then we could have a 1A and 1B line.

Does anyone have any insight into how many times Perron has scored big goals against the Jets (OT, GWG, go ahead, etc). It seems it’s always him! And it’s grinding my gears!!

(we need to acquire him :sarcasm:)

Don't know about "big" goals but he has 9 in 23 games against the Jets.

I am pretty happy with how the team played for the most part tonight. We were right in it all night and that is all you can ask for. Having said that the refs were atrocious. Hard to believe how much the Blues were allowed to get away with....

Helle wasn't up to his usual standard tonight. Team played well and got him a point.

JoMo was very strong in his own end tonight, especially against the O'Rielly line. He moved the puck really stongely but bobbled some pucks in the ozone though. Poolman is solid against the rush and shifts in well to clean up after the puck carrier is stopped. He however has a world of trouble when pressured with the puck in his end. He made numerous bad decisions along the wall that allowed the blues to maintain possession in our end. He needs to clean that part of his game up.

Pionk and Psia were hemmed in their end a lot tonight and it resulted in sustained offense and a number of goals against. Psia doesn't move the puck quick enough against a hard forechecking team and Pionk had a bit of trouble with the size and strength. Good learning experience for Pionk for what he can expect in the playoffs in the central.

The bottom pairing played a nice and tidy game. Nice play by Beau on Connor's first goal. No real complaints from them tonight.

Scheifele/Connor/Laine: Laine had a terrific game tonight. He was hard on the puck, was smart in his breakout passes and carried the pukc with a purpose tonight. Connor was very dangerous offensively tonight and scored two big goals. He was still a mess on the wall in the dzone though and will need to clean that up in order be able to match up and come out on top against a strong line like O'Rielly's. Scheifele imo was trying to do a bit too much tonight. He made some very uncharacteristically poor plays with the puck and his reads were off. Couple that with so so d play and it wasn't a strong night tonight. He was somewhat carried by his wingers tonight.

Wheeler/Roslovic/Ehlers: This trio struggled to really get anything going tonight. They had a few good looks but by and large struggled to create sustained zone time. They also got caught out for extended shifts in their end.

Lowry/Appelton/Bourque: These guys had a real nice night. Appelton was playing a hard fast game and was involved all over the ice. Lowry was strong defensively and pressured hard in the ozone. Bourque kept his motor running all night.

Fourth line: The line played well in the limited minutes that they played. They weren't a liability and held there own.

Coaching: It was apparent that Maurice wanted to play a real low event, sit back and clogg up the nz type of game. The team executed it well. It was probably the right call for tonight. PK still needs a lot of work as it is way too passive. PP scored a goal on a break in but other then that wasn't too dangerous.

One thing that seemed to get away from Maurice was bench management. No way Scheifele should be around 26 and a half minutes especially how he was playing. Fatigue likely played a role in his turnover in OT.

Onto St. Louis, the team showed they can play with them so now go and take a clean two points.

Roslovic set Ehlers up perfectly and Ehlers blocked his own goal.

Wasn't able to watch the game unfortunately but just checked the box score. Three forwards with over 25+ TOI seems ridiculous. Don't think I've ever seen as big of a spread from 4:54 to 27:07. Did anything happen?

I didn't realize the ice time was so high for Scheifele, Laine, Connor. The biggest reason was that they stayed on for the bulk of the PPs. And they were the most dangerous scoring line, with the team trailing most of the game.

I liked the way the team fought back, but they looked pretty gassed in the 3 on 3. Especially as we only rotated 2 d throughout it. In a normal situation Morrissey tracks down Perron no problem.

There's good and bad you can take from this game. I think St. Louis did a pretty good job of stretching the Jets defensively in their 1 on 1 coverage, leading to breakdowns. Sign of a good team. When you compare our two defenses, I would say that St. Louis stands out as quite a bit better, yet we gave them some fits with good speed.

Jets did well to come back, each time they were punched in the face. The 4-4 goal had a lot to do with Lowry. Won the draw, retrieved the puck in the neutral zone, and made the change for Ehlers which set up the tying goal. Lurch was strong tonight, and I like the chemistry with Apples. I like Bourque as a player, but I think he is playing above his head on the 3rd line. Still got the big goal early. 4th line was actually pretty good this game. Not Wheeler's strongest game, but he scored a greasy goal to tie up the game late, that's not something I am used to seeing from him, but maybe a testament to doing whatever it takes.

Same guys that seem to show up big for St. Louis in Winnipeg, did it again. Schwartz, Bozak, Perron.

We looked like a team playing with a depleted roster tonight, against a healthy Stanley Cup Champion. And in the end we gave them a good battle. Nothing is decided in December. Shoring up the special teams is something the Jets have to do, to get past the Champs. PP could have won the game, PK could have given the team momentum.

Not going to comment on refs. I think we got some good breaks too. Will say that the fans did a decent job of being heard tonight, which was nice. Friday night games are the best. But taste sweeter with victory.

Jets played pretty well. Helle with an off game. Man Connor can really dazzle at times.

I miss Josh Morrissey

55 that just pisses me off. Horrible shift by those guys down low, and then tries to get cute...dump it in and get off you selfish ***
In three on three you don't dump it in, you bring it out of the zone and let your team change, not try and beat 3 guys. Just a dumb dumb play

Helly was still the better of the two tonight. He had a lot more tough shots than Binnington just didn’t have the d to help him out. We also had way more turnovers than they did. Laine was really bad at fighting for rebound in our end in ot. Moved really slowly. Must have been gassed. Surprised Ehlers didn’t get any minutes in OT.
