Probably the fact that Ehlers wasn't out there - although this was not one of Ehlers better games.
Doesn't really matter - Coaching is always the low hanging fruit for some.
This was a really good hockey game - one of the best I've watched this season - someone had to win and it couldn't have been closer.
See, the takeaway that most people who like the Jets, and weren't breathing exhausted sighs of relief when the Blues won in OT, would be something like:
* We went toe to toe with the defending Cup champions and the division leaders.
* We never gave up, even when we were about a 20:1 underdog, and played to the final whistle.
* We fought hard to get the point, and had the first big chances in overtime, which is about as big an edge as winning the coin-toss in sudden death OT in NFL.
* We did this in spite of not getting the best out of our upper quartile goalie and some highly questionable officiating.
It's games like this that expose the weakness in mindsets that struggle with the notion that there is variance in play, yes even in athletic contests, and the game is not won through sheer force of will.
Like this was THE MOST "anybody's game" in recent memory. Worth my time to watch, worth anyone's time who likes hockey to watch. Wish I had money down on it, even if I would have lost.
