Ok, I agree with you, but ones just a temp plug bc of injury and the other is special purpose.

I think a big problem is Tatar, Palat, and Haula. Haha isn't effective without Cotter and Noesen. Not completely sure why we broke that up. Except that Jack/Bratt weren't going.

If the top 6 are shut down, we need a third line to make a difference, and specifically a grinditout center. I think Fitz has to add here but there isn't much in the cupboard that we'd like to move.

I mean Cotter-Haula-Noesen literally wasn't effective though. They were outscored 7-6 with a 41% CF and 44% xG. That line was bad. Cotter-Haula as a pair together has been awful. They're both been much better away from each other. They're outscored 10-6 as a pair with a 43% xG in 160 minutes. in 112 minutes of Cotter away from Haula he has a 65% and is up 7-5 in goals. Haula in 82 minutes away from Cotter has a 51% xG and a 7-4 goal differential.

I want my cake and eat it too.

I love the better play overall, but I miss their end of game ability of the past.

They were the comeback kings. It feels like they traded better starts for poor finishes. I never felt like they were out of it.

I don't think that was a satisfying game. I don't think they played well. I find it hard to feel good when "we didn't get a lot going offensively" has been the MO this year. Even in the Panthers games we didn't get much of anything really going offensively outside the PP.
I just didn't worry about our offense

Small sample set. They literally kick started our season as a third line despite being a third line. At some point you need to take into account the context in which Cotter only scored 7 goals total last year and almost exceeded that on one line in a few games.

I call a moderate amount of bullshit and question the actual causality of your stats.

I mean, Cotter went on to play with Hughes where he could've accidentally stumbled into X goals. Whereas having a line that independently generated chances without hughes/bratt/hischier is a relative rarity around here the past five years. But thanks for your misleading stats that can be morphed to prove whatever you'd like to prove
