12 minutes that some of Nurse et al don’t have to play. These guys are already stretched to their maximum in terms of what they can handle.

He PKs well too.
Yes but people are making it sound like this team can’t play without a 7th defender taking minutes against bottom guys, if that’s the case then yiiiikes. I like him but others are saying he is our best defender when he gets spanked by elite comp.

Be careful, you might be called a holland worshipper because you dont think VD is our best D.

All the cup winners in the last bunch of years all won because they had a great defenseman on their team. Letang, Keith, Makar etc I can go on and on. EDM needs Karlsson. in the worst way because they aren't winning with this defense. lol

Hell, for now I'd settle for having VD back and going 11-7

It's not good enough that we signed losers like Puljujarvi and Yamamoto to take up 6+ million in cap space, we need the added fart in the face of having them take up so much cap that we can't even play our actual best D-Man. And of course this clown show needs to carry on until as close as possible to the trade deadline so we can piss away more points. Thanks Kenny.

A bunch of pretenders.

Watch Boston, Toronto, Dallas, Colorado play and it's obvious that this team is 1st or 2nd round fodder at best.

McDavid and Drai shouldn't be allowed to see the ice in OT either. God are they terrible.

Also of note yet another disappointing end in the home rink. It is truly confusing.

And 4 out of 5. I've said before, we've been garbage since coming back from the break.
And even just before the break there were some signals that all was not well Ina couple of games.

It's kind of funny how the Alberta teams could badly use a coaching trade. Woodcroft does not believe in any kind of accountability or preparation for a game and never criticizing players. Sutter is the exact opposite but a total asshole, lol, but that's probably what we need. Mike Smith was an ass too but the team actually benefitted from someone blowing their top and not being nice all the time.

He used to be but Draisaitl is not even close to being a top 5 player anymore.

I am assuming he is hurt, but the laziness has reached a brand new level. Woodcroft needs to call him out on it.
Woodcroft is an empty suit behind the bench. If you're expecting something resembling coaching or holding players accountable from him, you'll be waiting a while.

I also question how much Nurse loves the game. He's a shell of what he used to be, seems to have lost that passion he used to have. Leadership is a real problem.
No man it's not about loving or hating the game, dude just ****ing sucks at hockey that's it. He's a bottom pairing dman that was gifted 76 million dollars for having 1 decent year.

The only way that stupid useless liability loser is not an Oiler for the next 8 years is a career ending injury.

This team sure misses Duncan Keith. His poise, leadership & experience are exactly what the team is missing.

Pretty sure they were blowing leads all playoffs long with Keith too. They need someone who can actually defend and the sad thing is the closest player to fitting that bill is a 25 year old AHL D-Man. No other D on this team has the brains or willingness to play tough defensive hockey.
