Maybe you'll actually watch then.

I'll record it and do something enjoyable.

Have to get the gardens planted this weekend, so will probably spend the evening (Calgary) imbibing and on Prime or NetFlix and then watching is TBD. This ain't Dougie's Leafs, and I've been disappointed since I watched the last Cup win.

One of the most unlikable iterations of the team.
Even some of the dogs were likeable.

Has a team ever fired a coach in the middle of a playoff series? The GM's job is on the line. There's always the ol' has to attend to personal matters excuse.

The have 3 shots at it. They lost the first one. It's not like Tampa dominated. Let's see how the second attempt goes. You're talking about the team that has been the best team in the league over the last 5 years. They're not going down without a fight. The Leafs will just have to come hard in game 6 and show that they have another gear.

Keefe and Dubas need to figure out if this team follows analytics or doesn't because Holl should not be out there.
Yup. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt but if Holl plays next game, that's it for Keefe. Maybe 7 Dman and he kills penalties only, OK then.

7 out of 8 series are 3-2. We're leading 3-2 so only one team in the entire league is in better shape than we are ATM. Time to realize that potential boys.

GLG!!

Yes, if they win game 7 they get a guaranteed 3 revenue games. I they win in Tampa it is only 2 guaranteed games. Have to generate socialists HRR.
Why the hell are we talking about revenue? When was the last time you heard the Leafs organization crying for money? Money is not even on the list of problems for this team, in fact that is the only thing that is guaranteed regardless of the outcome of the season.

You’ll never convince me Lil could be worse this series than Holl. Keefe will own this one should they lose. There is no way the game film shouldn’t force a change.

I thought we played well, good hustle for many stretches. Some real strong play from many players, but the lack of finish was our undoing. A Jarnkrok has to bury some of these chances for instance, seems we had plenty of high danger chances.

Let’s see how hard we hold the sticks game 6, it’s make or break for this group, they’re either too damaged to succeed or they set a fresh course.

As an aside, some offence flashes aside, Nylander has been a disgrace with his effort level in our end imo, my eyes bleed watching his casual standing around waiting for someone else to win a puck, totally liability for whatever line is stuck with him.

It was never going to be easy, it’s just not the Leafs way.

The goaltending situation is tough to pin on Dubas. There are very few elite goalies right now. Even Shesterkin got blitzed for 4 goals last night. Tough.
Of course you pin the goaltending on Dubas. He's been GM closing in on 5 years. I mean, if not the GM who do you blame. He traded for Murray when everybody and his aunt knew he was injury prone. He should thank his lucky stars that Sammy fell into his lap and Woll looks to be emerging as a full time NHLer.

Believe it or not, that's by far a lot better than quite a few teams in the playoffs. Look at the teams like NYI, NJD, EDM, WPG. Players elevate their games come playoffs, enough with excuses all the time. We have been hearing this shit for too long now. I can't say for others but I want results now or they can go f*** themselves.

I can see Babcock smiling ear to ear at this team.
We’ve been hearing it because of who they have.

Samsonov has a history of poor playoffs and is well below championship level again this year. This series should be over, but they got lucky that Vasilevskiy went MIA.

The more I watch these games, the more I think that Matthews is not even close to Draisaitl. Forget about McDavid. He just doesn’t take charge and lead team to victories right from the start of the game. It’s great he scored 2 goals in game 4, but why are we down 4-1 at all? I haven’t seen him assert himself and lead the team.

Tampa made it easy gifting them two in Tampa and they failed to take advantage in game #5. Still got two shots at it but if these guys truly cave to pressure, be prepared to be disappointed.

11/7 is the only solution I see for Game 6.

Bunting-Matthews-Nylander
Knies-Tavares-Marner
Jarnkrok-ROR-Acciari
Kerfoot-Kampf

Rielly-Schenn
McCabe-Brodie
Gio-Lily
Holl (eat pucks on the PK)

I have been defensive of Keefe's decision to play Holl over Lilly the entire series. Even up unitl last night I felt like Holl was the right call. He absolutely cannot play game 6.

That 1st goal against, seconds after we take control of the scoreboard. I am no sure I can get past it TBH. If we end up losing this series, I will never forgive Holl for that play TBH. It is completely inexcusable for him to decide to lay his first hit all series in that moment and miss. Unnecessary doesn't even begin to describe that play.

I am so livid with Holl for that play. I firmly believe that was the turning point in the game. I have never seen a single player deject life out of a building like that. On such a needless play no less.

I have tried to stay relatively level all series. Not trying to get too high or too low, but I really can't get over how idiotic that play was.

I can forgive goals 2&3, and lets be real, he was not good on those either. But goal #1 makes me sick to my stomach

You can bellyache about Holl and Keefe until the cows come home but that one goal on Samsonov is the weakest playoff goal against a Leafs' goalie I can recall.
Sammy has to be better I think we all agree on that but you’re not putting in Woll so it’s a moot point. On the other hand, Keefe has a young mobile D-man sitting in the box for a guy who has been on the ice for 15 of Tampa’s goals in this series. It’s abominable that Lilejgren makes a few mistakes he has to sit out while Holl costs us big games and has the longest leash ever

You can sense the pressure they feel, so many chances to bury them. Curious what the chances stats show. I’m a Leafs fan, preparing for disappointment I could write a doctorate thesis by now lol.

It's not about if they lose again, the only chance I would give them would be if they finished the season winning the cup or coming short in the finals. Anything less and it's time to blow things up. These guys are in their prime they aren't getting younger or better.
Yeah but what if their expected goals was impressive?

The difference was Vasi didn’t give up any soft goals. He didn’t steal the game he just play a normal game and made the saves. I fully expect that to continue in the next two games.

Money isn't for the Leafs ... they don't get to keep it ... it's for have-not teams.

Anyway, I have no faith but I don't discount they can win.

I'll watch live in round two.

That's the thing with Holl.
He will do some good things and show usefulness but then he screws up and it's usually a colossal mistake that ends up in the back of the net.
Not exactly the same skillsets but he's alot like Jake Gardiner in that regard.

Should have finished off CBJ and MTL then. If they at least did that, the pressure would be much less today. It’s their own damn fault.
