Some positivity for Leafs fans

Vegas still has us as big favorites to win the series

If we don't win tomorrow we have lost the series realistically. Get Holl off the ice entirely and need Sammy to be better.
Holl will likely be benched next game. 3 goals went in on his watch and Keefe attempted to limit the damage by reducing his game time to 12 1/2 minutes. Keefe knows full well he f***ed up.

Vegas odds are influenced by Leaf fans betting, though.

Well outside of the Bruins series, the other two series that are 3-2 (car vs nyi, dal vs minn) are all around the same -400 to -430 number.

You're correct in your assesment, moreso was just posting it to show we're still in a very favourable position and should get it done.

I don't know man, he doesn't give Liljegren the same leeway and seems to trust him less. I think Keefe will be scared to put a potentially rusty Liljegren in. If anything I could see him going 11-7 with Lafferty and ZAR out for Bunting and Liljegren.

If it wasn’t for our history, we’d be all going ho-hum it’s just one loss to a good team. Can’t expect to win 4 straight against them. If it ends up 4-2 instead of 4-1, who cares? But because of our history, we panic. I am thinking, let’s see what happens on Saturday. They can’t possibly keep losing elimination games indefinitely, lol. Can they?

I’m still so pissed off at that immediate game tying goal. 26 seconds, that’s all it took to give momentum right back. Couldn’t even wait half a minute. Holl the f***ing oaf missing the hit and spending the rest of that shift trying to pick up his stick would be funny if it weren’t so sad and costly. Keefe going to his worst d-pairing after just taking the lead is a level of galaxy-braining I’ll never understand.

It can be both things. Leafs have had leaky goaltending since the Belfour days. Dubas should’ve stabilized the position by now and not gambled on question marks in goal.
They got by in games 2-4 because the guy at other end had an 860 ish sv%, but when he’s closer to 930, goaltending once again becomes a glaring weakness.

You can't have a dman playing those minutes and allowing 3ga. Keefe isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer but he isn't suicidal. He telegraphed his intent by sitting Holl a lot. Didn't reveal much in the presser but that is because he needs to have a coming to Jesus moment with Holl to break the news.

Ideally next game, Lafferty and Holl out. Liljegren and Bunting in.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Knies - O’Reilly - Nylander
Kerfoot - Tavares - Jarnkrok
Aston Reese - Kampf - Acciari

Rielly - Schenn
McCabe - Brodie
Giordano - Liljegren

“I guess my first response would be whether (Holl) has been on the ice by himself in those situations,” Keefe said when asked about possibly inserting Liljegren. “I think the answer is (Holl) is not out there by himself in those situations when he is getting scored on.

“But we need those guys (Holl and Giordano) to be better. They were involved in the goals tonight. They have also done a good job at different times in the series.”

So, this is Keefe’s take on Holl’s play, and how he looks at rolling moving forward.

This is why I can’t stand Keefe. Keefe and Holl are our biggest liabilities.

I just can’t believe we are going to risk wasting another season because both these guys are over their heads, in addition to Keefe being unable to see the most plainly obvious areas of weakness for us.

Gio has been pretty awful as well.

I like this line up, I think it's about as good as it gets. Having Acciari on the 4th is a really nice boost to that line.

I hope you're right, I really do but he just seems to inexplicably love the guy

Better team in 4 of 5 games won and I am kind of sure they also will win the next two games. It's pretty sad to watch the Leafs get outplayed with this lineup. Not sure how it is even possible. Sigh.
Anything is possible for this team, there will be 2 or 3 HoF players from the current team and they will be laughed at for the very same reason. Should just reset after the season if they lose again. There is literally no point in keeping any of them around for another failure.

You can even switch Kerfoot and Acciari.

Jarnkrok - Tavares - Acciari
Aston Reese - Kampf - Kerfoot

If they lose again, there is absolutely no reason the core should stay together, none. If Dubas doesn’t want to shake up the core and fire Keefe as well, he can go too.

Outplayed in 4 of 5. Destroyed Tampa in only game Hedman missed.

We need some luck or history will repeat because Tampa is not rolling over.
Look, I’m trying my best. This is the first year I actually thought they may get past the first round. They are going to ruin my playoff pool aren’t they?

To be honest, even if they squeeze this one out and lose next round, this team needs a change.
