at the moment im not seeing demand much different for tonights game versus the regular season

im out of games 2, 5 and 7 but if anyone wants lower bowl tickets at essentially cost for tonight let me know.

i dont have it for all games but i also have food for game 1

It's a game of chicken right now between buyers and sellers. But my guess is tickets start disappearing swiftly after lunch today. People want to go to game 1 from both fanbases so tickets will move, I think the market overall has cratered and won't go down anymore.

And just for some perspective on how much the Devils have lowered the prices for tonight. Section 212 tickets (blue dots) after the matchup was set last week were dynamically priced up to $365. Today, they've dropped the price so much you can find blue dots in section 9 (black seats, no food) for $340.

Interesting that there are a bunch of blue dots back on the map ... guess they have up on the former sths taking their spam calls?

75%+ Devs fans tonight. Shame they wasted it.

Also, perhaps I'm being petty, but why wasn't there a big intro and hype video? There were minimal theatrics (Ice art, serious hype video and music) in the arena before puck drop. Certainly seemed the least of any playoff game I've ever been to.

Was at the game. It was 75/25 Devils. Upper level was mostly red. The only real area that has blue was behind the net where the rangers shoot twice.
Photographic evidence.

it wasn’t as bad as i expected but after the 4th goal it was basically a ranger home game. the igor chants were discouraging but they really didn’t give the home fans ANYTHING to cheer for other than taking away a goal against for the high stick.

couldn’t imagine a worse experience for the first home playoff game in 5 years

I had the exact same thought! The video was at least different from the regular season video, but I felt like that was the only difference between this game and a regular season game. All of the music and scoreboard games were exactly the same as a regular season game. In 2012 I'm pretty sure they had playoff banners and "Red Alert" signage all around the arena, and also had special signage for the fan fest. My guess/hope is they will do special things for later rounds in the playoffs but for now it's pretty flat. They are raking in way more money than a round 1 series would normally bring in and spending almost nothing extra to enhance the experience...

Speaking of the experience, my rep emailed me like 2 weeks ago to say that they wouldn't be doing paper playoff tickets. I like my rep Ron but this canned message was a joke. It said that "the arena has been paperless for several years now" which is false because I still use paper tickets in the regular season, and it said that they "didn't have time to print and mail paper tickets" which is also BS because they were able to mail paper playoff tickets from 1987 - 2018. Suddenly now, when we were essentially locked into a playoff spot for the last 2 months, the front office is unable to print and mail tickets? It's just more lazy cost cutting.

A friend of mine asked the question to his rep about paper tickets and got the same "we don't have enough time" response. The tickets are printed with the generic R1, H1, R1,H2 anyway so you didn't need to know the opponent to print them in early March. Would of been a nice experience to have those for the playoffs.

Obviously away fans like to buy the side where they shoot twice so it was nice to see sections 101-107 not really have any blue there. Like I said last week, win our games early and it will keep away fans out. Lose and well game 5 could be ugly.

Got an alert about tickets being released through the link from yesterday. $180 each for 226 row 3 as the cheapest option

My buddy heard from his dad that parking doubled from $30 to $60 for the playoffs, but I guess that shouldn't be too surprising. Just crazy how expensive going to one game ends up being.

I'm itching to go tomorrow, ugh. I wish I could swing it lol. Just win and get a game 5 on the books so I can consider it.

Parkwhiz shows most did go up. There are a few still at $25-$30 but most are $40-$60 now.

The train costs less at this point in almost every case, wish I didn’t have to take the train because it’s more time consuming but my older car needs a new computer. At this point even my cheapo lot a couple blocks away probably is above the price of round trip from Madison to Broad Street though (it was $10 in the regular season but probably marked up now)

The gameday experience/presentation team has been awful for a few years now. They pretty much mail it in. Every year the intro is just some generic hard rock song with a 90 second highlight reel.

There's zero awareness of how to actually create an atmosphere and enhance the playoff experience. Go look at playoff intros from Carolina, Vegas, Montreal, etc. It's night and day.

At least they brought back white towels, which was the biggest thing for me. The red towels are pointless. Would have been nice to actually see them in action one time last night.

the towels were cool but yeah it would have been nice to have an opportunity to wave them

bring back the red lights and droning noise from 2012!

Was Game 1 like this with resale on ticketbastard?

View attachment 691964

I want to say it was similar to that like 2 days before the game. I was very surprised that basically every seat was actually full for game 1. Though with how many tickets are left for today and the fact it doesn’t look like prices are dropping much, it’s hard to believe that many people are going to buy today.

Maybe a few more Rags fans infiltrate but, winning tonight will shut them the f@#k up! It will still be a raucous pro Devils crowd.

They spent like a million dollars on that on ice projector and they basically gave up on using it to do anything fun/cool. I remember the first year the ice broke away to show hell and fire.

Idk if it broke or they just don't have someone who can program properly or they just don't care but yeah the opening could have been a lot bigger to me as well.

I said it in the game day thread but the only positive thing I had to say about Tuesday was it was almost entirely Devils fans around me and only a few rangers fans and nobody was actually obnoxious around me. Hope it's the same tonight in that regard.

Found this so it just seems like they got lazy/don't know how to program cool things into it currently...

Also the f***ing "woo crew" carrying make noise signs is so stupid. The crowd makes plenty of noise, absolutely no need for that whatsoever.
Yeah they're literally just in the way when you try to walk up and down the aisles and it's the most bush league crap ever. Nobody even reacts to the signs.

I'm pretty sure in 2012 (in addition to the whole red alert thing) they also introduced smoke machines above the glass behind the net for goals and they brought back the full retro goal horn for the first game against Florida.

Now that they don't even put the cup graphic on the ice under the blueline, there's really zero difference in the feel from an in-arena experience perspective between a regular game and the playoffs.
