Beautifully and perfectly said.
I'm not going to share with you the name of the rep, but will share part of what he/she actually said to me in an email about the partial plans:

"You and other partial plan members did receive priority before the general public going on sale today.

Again, there is extreme benefit (I bolded and italicized for emphasis) in being a partial plan member, however with the demand, all round playoff packages went extremely quickly."

Pissed off, I sent this reply, to which he/she never responded (not that I expected him/her to).

"Please. Stop. There's no "extreme" benefit. What I was promised when I signed up for my plan was not delivered. You gave us access to dynamically priced tickets by you and STH's FOR ONE HOUR prior to Newsletter folks. That's it. And the majority of those tickets will still be part of the public on-sale, so stop trying to tell me/us that it's an "extreme" benefit. You could have blocked some of these seats for partial plan holders. You did not. You dynamically priced them when STH's posted their additionally purchased tickets for resale.

Also, I received ZERO notification of playoff tickets, period. There had to have been emails sent out prior to access code emails explaining what the process would be. If there was, I received nothing.

There was no priority. There was an hour of access to scalping priced tickets. That's it. Partial Plan holders got screwed. STH's think we got screwed. Regular fans who know we deserve actual priority know we got screwed. One group of people don't think we got screwed:

YOU/The Devils.

Michael, and yes, I will be telling people to stay away from Partial Plans and steering them towards secondary sites going forward."
just curious, what is consdered a partial plan nowadays? how many games did your plan have?

I mean part of the issue seems to have stemmed from all the extras they sold to STH who are just flipping them for profit (which I don't blame them considering the market)

It just further priced people out.

There was also no reason they couldn't do a better presale with more reasonable prices

but the devils are pricing them favorably compared to MSG prices so it is the more desirable option for rangers fans. On top of that, they let all season ticket holders purchase an extra 4 seats at a discounted price for the playoffs which encourages scalping, especially for the rangers series (but also for the rest of the playoffs because the prices are so low comparatively). any season ticket holder who doesn't need more seats than they already have were able to purchase tickets to scalp and recoup their costs, those are available to rangers and devils fans equally.

On top of that, they didn't allow partial plan holders to purchase full playoff packages so it makes it harder for number of loyal fans from being able to lock down seats for themselves. the easiest thing to do would be to let anyone who purchased a plan this season to be able to buy a full playoff package, but they didn't do that at all, they just let them buy them at a humongous markup earlier, and only one game at a time and only the first round.

basically they flooded the market with scalpable tickets at a desirable price for rangers fans while limiting the opportunity for a greater number of devils fans to get in.
I learned long ago that investing in Devils tickets for resale purposes is usually a bad ideal. It ma work in Rd 1 this year, but the STH prices escalate dramatically In later rounds.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these...

It's a family thing for most people, they want their kids to root for the same team they did. I totally get it from that aspect.
The hell with kids. Those leeches should suck it up and buy their own tickets. What moron goes and has three kids anyway?

But I'm not going to back off in saying that the team charging $280 before fees for seats in the 100s and 200s is bullshit. Most re sales aren't being that greedy
I also have to wonder how many are actually getting sold at these prices. Last I looked (yesterday), there were a ton of seats listed ... since many (most?) are resale (which were probably purchased at a fraction of these prices), I wouldn't be shocked if prices drop quite a bit in the next couple of days.

If iI were the Devils, I would undercut the resellers now ... I think they could probably move most of their inventory quickly at 20% lower price points, and they run the risk of sths cutting the resale prices by far more than that (and still coming out ahead) ... which would force the Devils to drop prices to that level

With the obscene number of tickets for sale, looks like 20% of the buliding maybe more, tomorrow will be an interesting day. Market showing no support for these prices, if the demand was there we'd already have seen some inventory move. As it is now, it actually looks like more tickets have become available over the weekend. Wondering the Devils dumped some more. if your patient and can afford to wait you should be ok.

Hope the same happens for MSG. Saturday is an opportunity for me to go and support our team over there. Our boys deserve some support there if you can afford to do it!

Hey Everyone.

If you are looking for lower bowl seats for game 1 or game 2 send me a message.

I can get you in considerably under ticketmaster for the same or similar sections.

How is the experience in the restaurant sections at the ends of the ice?
How about the club and ledge seats?
Basically the mid level seats above the club seats but below the upper deck?

Compared to the club seats?
Thanks.

Just checked Ticketbastard and plenty of inventory left included some blue dots. Hopefully people wait it out and cause a price drop. Under $300 after fees to get into the Rock. Over $400 for standing room at MSG. I may drop money to go on Saturday pending on a few things.

So just to clarify, there's only one restaurant in the arena. It's on the "defend twice" side of the building. The buffet in the restaurant is higher-end than the other clubs (in my experience). Better food all around in terms of the quality and variety.

There's a club on the opposite side of the arena called The Lofts. This area mostly serves the same food as the club lounges in the lower bowl. So there's a carving station with sides and a salad bar, but the rest of the food is your basic arena stuff like chicken fingers, burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc.

The view from either place is great! Obviously in The Lofts you're on the "attack twice" end so that's a plus, but seats in both areas are comfortable. In the restaurant, you have a countertop that you sit at (in a regular padded chair) so it's easier to eat while watching the game. In the Lofts, the seats are wide comfortable arena seats but no counter so most people were eating before the game and during intermissions. For both of these sections, they also don't feel as crowded as the lower level clubs. I think there's just fewer people overall in these spaces whereas the lower level clubs can feel very packed with long lines to get food at times. That said, I prefer the view from the lower level clubs just being a bit closer to the ice.

Chespest on ticketmaster before fees is $200. Basically how it was the first two matchups during the regular season. I find that interesting.

Well in the first 7 days you got 72k+ seats for sale and arenas are right next to each other. That's a lot for hockey and brings down the scarcety factor of the series, i.e. i order to sell out, you'd need a number of fans going to multiple games.

The last home game against the Rangers was (I believe) a Saturday afternoon. A weeknight game takes out some families (as does the atmosphere of a Rangers/Devils playoff game).

Having said that, it seems that the Rangers fans aren't as willing to fork over $250+ to see a playoff game in NJ as many thought they would be, as there are probably still close to 2,000 tickets available. I am a little surprised by that, as well as the fact that the Devils haven't dropped their price by 20-25% and clear out their remaining inventory (which would make most of the re-sellers do the same). That would annoy folks who bought during the individual game pre-sale, but (given their approach to partial plan holders) that clearly isn't a concern for them.

Last one was a weeknight, both games had similar prices to what we see now. So maybe a 60/40 fan split like those two games.

My guess is it's people skipping games that can't close out the series and saving up for a game 4-7 if one of us can close it out then.

Not that games 1-3 aren't obviously important but if you can only go to 1 game you're probably gonna try to go to a close out game instead.

How much do you guys pay for your black and red plans?
For shoot twice balcony I paid average $40 per seat per game. Thats 44 total games including preseason. So around $3500 for two seats. But I was locked into the same price the last few years. I think it will be $45 a seat for me next season.

Gets me $58 per game first round tickets so its worth it if you can pay the monthly plan. Also. I made money off my resales this season. I couldn’t make it to the first Rags game and sold that for $205 per seat LOL. Also other gms I couldn’t make it to I was selling for $50-$120 a seat.

They also give you around 6 games to “buy back “ which gets pushed to next season if you want to renew. I always choose the first month weeknight shit games against bad opponents on those.
I'm going to all the home games, have 0 interest in going to MSG.
IF we are up 3-0 and tickets crater, I can’t resist going.
