My 3:00 PM lately advised presale just started. Not a single ticket for sale under $200, even in the 200's section that are NOT resales. The Devils dynamically priced these seats based on the STH resales in the same sections. So sorry, Partial Plan holders, we were phucked over. Period.
It sucks big time. I didn't even get a code despite signing up. It isn't brain surgery to figure out they jacked them up a lot because it's the Rangers. If they tried this vs just about any other team for round 1, they would fail at selling most tickets.

Bottom line is they don't care. If you don't buy them, a Rangers fan will because it's still way cheaper than MSG prices ($400 per for not the 400 sections).

When it's a sea of blue at these games, they still won't care.

its incredibly shitty that theyre basically pricing out devils fans and not even letting anyone with a partial plan get any kind of discount. its going to be horrible watching rangers fans celebrate if they even win one game on our ice

and who is even going to be able to afford games if they advance? its actually insane

My seats are now closer to 2.5x the cost that I paid vs what they are charging now for face value plus fees.

I'd have season tickets regardless of playoffs or not but this is a nice huge discount for full season ticket holders.

Partial plan holders should have gotten some sort of discount though as well.

My only hope is to win tickets or hope the resale market collapses.

If we win the division and don't play the Rangers it will lol

I know everyone is upset about all this but it's only happening cause of playing the Rangers, team is cashing in because they know a lot of people would just buy to resell as well.

If we make it to round 2 it will probably be cheaper than playing the Rangers in round 1 lol

If they advance to play Carolina (or Florida), I am confident that second round tickets will be less expensive (possibly by a considerable amount) than what you are seeing now for the first round (both in the secondary market and whatever the Devils have available).

The Devils full sths who renewed and were willing to commit to all four rounds got a great deal (even excluding what they can sell tix against the Rangers for, the per-game cost was very reasonable).

Full STHs have listed their (and/or extra seats that they purchased well below current pricing) at MSG-level prices. Seats next to mine are listed at ~ $350 (before fees .. over $400 after). If they sell and he get ~ $315/seat, each one he sells cover his cost of 3-4 of his first round tickets. Heck, he could decide to watch the first round at home and (depending how many home games there are in round 1) cover most of the next three rounds

What they are doing to partial sths (and, arguably, even to full sths who didn't want to commit to all four playoff rounds) is disgraceful ... particularly since they tout access to playoff tickets as one of the big perks of those plans. If not stated in writing, the clear implication is that there would be some sort of preferential pricing. Giving those folks the "opportunity" to purchase at similar pricing to the secondary market is of zero value.

I also agree that they are pricing out the average fan who has no ticket plan, but who may go to a number of games every yearI get why it's done, as the artist/promoter/franchise figures they might as well take the profit that would otherwise go to brokers ... but the difference is that the franchise needs to customer loyalty to sell tickets (both season, partial, and individual) ... so this may be very short-sighted. I am sure they got some new sths for next year by offering the playoff pricing incentive, but I am thinking they may lose far more partial plan holders, as those folks may see no value in that, and will simply go to the secondary market ... and also tick off the individual game ticket purchaser.

Are they pricing out Devils fans or just all non-STH’s? Guess we’ll find out how many tickets they held back for profit when we see the Game 1 crowd

$400 is f***ing ridiculous to be in an upper corner. I sooo badly want them to win the division and play the Panthers to see what happens. It's one thing for secondary sellers to price gouge, but this is straight from the team. Disgusting.

I think that the secondary market will drop a fair amount. There are a TON of STH seats listed (far more than "new" tickets) ...If they don't sell at the prices listed in the next couple of days, there is a ton of room for those prices to drop and the STH to still be happy to sell. And some STHs may be thinking that they will sell at gouge-level prices and watch from home ... but if they can only get something closer to what they paid, maybe they go instead.

I think (and I say this as a full STH) that they should have restricted the ability to re-sell the additional playoff strip tickets. They provided STHs with (what I think) is more-than-fair pricing on their seats (regardless of opponent). Pricing wasn't as good on the additional strips, but by then the Rangers looked like inevitable opponent, so many so an opportunity.

They probably left a lot of money on the table with the full sths, and are looking to get it back here.

A second round matchup against Carolina or Florida will absolutely see pricing below what is out there for round 1 today. The Isles and Pens would bring some fans, driving up demand, but still think it will be lower than this.

This is part of why I half kiddingly think the bean counters leaned on Lindy to play Blackwood in Boston rather than Columbus lol

Yeah partial plan holders should get something between sth discount and box office prices but doesn’t sound like they will, at least this round. Guess that’s what happens when you have owners who aren’t lifelong fans a la VBK and the no blue campaign

The ridiculous Ticketmaster fees certainly don't help. If we play anyone but the Rangers they will just lower the prices of whatever inventory they have left. Resellers will eat it hard too.

I thought about a partial plan when i arrived in the US in October but didnt get it cause a) i was supposed to go back to Europe already in March (extended now till the end of May) and b) the average ticket price in a partial plan seemed to be higher than with 2nd marker singles.

Im happy with my decision lol.

I don't think they allowed to restrict any resales, pretty sure it's a law here.

I wonder if we ever reach the point of the secondary market being completely illegal. Probably not because then teams/events would have to offer refunds or future credits or something of that nature for people who have something come up.

That being said, pricing wise no matter what the team did people would complain. We generally have a very cheap fan base.

I've actually given up trying to sell my season tickets on the Facebook groups when I couldn't go because I can't even count how many times people would haggle me over trying to get $5-10 off my price when I was already listing them at season ticket holder face value which is cheaper than Ticketmaster and most times cheaper than the secondary market and I'm talking about this season with the team playing well.

I just ended up using buybacks instead of dealing with annoying people and I wish we had more of them.

My rep said based on inventory they *may* offer three round packages to partial plan holders if we advance past the first round. I think that might be a damage control type thing after the atrocity that today is. I've never wanted this team to win a division more in my life than right now.

If the series goes lopsided in either direction you'll see one fan base dumping their tickets like crazy for game 5 at the very least.

Got my code but yeah I can't buy at these prices right now. Especially as I'll have to eat some of the 2nd tickets costs because no one I know will pay that full price to accompany me.

Going to hope the resale market collapses and can score more reasonable tickets in the 200s

I think that's what I'm holding out for if we play the Rags. We take a quick 3-1 lead and Rags fans whole sale dump their tickets

At these prices, I think the Devils will sell the rest of the inventory to Rangers fans at the general sale tomorrow. If Carolina loses tonight, maybe some Ranger fans hold off a day?

Prior to this morning, anyone looking to resell was a STH looking to flip for a (large) profit. So if it's anyone but the Rangers, they won't lose anything but won't get their big payday.

I, with 0 Devils playoff ticket exp, think the current $200+ prices for 200s is bizarre. Im OK with $200 / seat for 100s but would expect the tix in 200s to be significantly cheaper. If youre looking to get cheapest possible tickets, then id probs wait a bit. I personally wanted to sit in 101-107, have a STH friend there too.

$500+ after fees for two tickets in the 200s is insane.

Wait, the club is really charging 300+ for 100 level tickets?
I could have gotten that much for the last regular season Devils-Ranger matchup.

I couldn’t go and sold them in about 5 minutes for “only” $250.
