The bottom line is that partial plan holders were not given access to strips or to the pricing that the STH's and new-to-NEXT-season STH's were given to. The "priority" access that partial plan holders were given was to those tickets that STH's purchased and put up for resale at a markup OR the remaining tickets that the Devils then marked up (DYNAMIC PRICING!!!) based on what the STH's were selling their additional tickets for. Partial Plan holders got access to the marked up tickets just barely ahead of newsletter access (which will include LOTS of Rangers fans) and Public Onsales. Gee, thanks for that "priority" access.

Partial Plan holders got screwed. Don't ever buy a partial plan, there's literally ZERO benefit.
If we are going to be a 41 game sellout team then maybe being a partial plan holder isn't all that bad but, yeah I got early access but, no kind of discount.

Heading into last night the Devils only had an 8% chance of winning the division according to The Athletic's model. Will be curious to see where we're at today once it updates.

Ranger fans have some decisions to make today - could easily lose money if they buy tickets today expecting Devils-Rangers at Prudential Center and it shifts to Devils-Panthers. Prices are already starting to drop on Stubhub to under $200 pre-fees.

I'm going to wait this out and hope NJ takes the division and prices drop.

I think prices will drop some more today ... some STHs (especially those who bought extras specifically to flip) may decide to take a "good" profit, rather than hold out for a killing. Plus, there are (or were, as of yesterday), so many resale tickets available that they likely weren't all going to move at those asking prices.

And then the Devils will have to lower the ask on their remaining inventory to compete.

Thinking of going tonight, saw some ok seats /prices on Seat Geek. Anyone looking to get rid of a ticket before I pull the trigger?

Updated Athletic projections.

17% seems rather low for the division title and NJ's total only adds up to 96%.

Devils and Carolina can both end up 3rd still and the Rangers could still win the division. The odds seem too “strong” as they don’t seem to be giving enough credence to the unlikely outcomes.

Probably because Carolina has Detroit next who is absolutely awful and have been giving up a ton of goals, 6, 5 and 6 in their last 3 games.

Plus they lost last night to Dallas 6-1 and had to travel to Carolina after the game to play there tonight.

Would be wild if Detroit actually beats them but those reasons are probably why the odds are that way.

Folks trying to resell 200s seats for $450 a ticket. Good luck with that

When you see the % of seats that are "verified resale", and realize that those were purchased (by sths) at a fraction of the listed price ... you have to assume that prices will be dropping (even if the Devils lose tonight (and Carolina wins) and the matchup gets locked).

I know that the tickets at MSG are even more expensive, but I have a hard time THAT many Rangers fans want to shell out $400+ for a first-round playoff game. I suppose money is no object for some, and others may figure this in their only shot (if the Rangers advance, the prices at MSG won't be lower in round 2).

I'm not sure if you heard something to the contrary, but I was clearly told by the Devils recently that strips were not going to be made available for new business this year, which is definitely a departure from past practice.

Pulled the trigger and got a ticket from the evil empire TM. Been awhile so does anyone have any leads on decent parking?

What times doors open for a bobble head?

Not sure where to put this. Are there any Devils bars in NYC to watch the playoff games? @StevenToddIves didn't you used to bartend at one back in 2018?
Yup, but we closed during the pandemic. The bar I work at now is more of a rock and roll bar than a sports bar. We have a few TVs, but they're normally off at night unless there's a big game of some sort.

Owners are all rock musicians from Minneapolis, so we'll likely have the Wild games on.

If you contrast the difference between seats available for the Devis first home game vs. the Rangers first home game, it's very telling. The Rangers have a few hundred seats available. The Devils? THOUSANDS.
Yes, I'm still a bitter partial plan holder.

I did ask last night about this. The response was basically, the option to buy in full was there for about/around $70 a ticket or a way cheaper price than what went on sale. Not a great answer as it's not easy to lay out all that at once. I can't imagine them making that much on interest by making you get all 4 rounds at once.

I'm not sure why they couldn't do what is always been done which is you buy rounds 1 and 2 in full then go from there. If you don't buy rounds 1 and 2, you give up your seats for 3 and 4.

200 level is now about $2,200 per ticket for season tickets (basically $50 a game per ticket).

When was the last time you bought rounds 1 and 2 and then 3 and 4? It's been so long that I really don't remember that option.

For me it's a pay as they play option which I believe was only offered to people who renewed. They aren't charging me until after each round is over so that way they don't have to worry about refunds for games not played.

We'll if you have the means ie a good line of credit or cash put away. Bite the bullet and don't wait for a price drop and we'll have a home crowd advantage to go with the home ice advantage. It's a big ask but, it's in your hands Devils fans!
