I wonder if the sound system still needs balancing.
I sit in 128 and this is the best the sound system has ever sounded. It’s not overly loud, it’s super clear, and I feel the bass but it’s subtle.
No. Not at all.It really didn't sound loud at the home opener to you? I thought it was the loudest non concert sound system event I've ever been to and I've been to a shit ton of events.
No. Not at all.
Everyone could have conversations in a normal voice.
do you think if they ever closed off the roof or added something different then the echo wouldn't be so bad? i know they have those panels up there but gotta think the tech has gotten better in the last 20ish years
Possible, I sit in 120 and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary volume wise…maybe it’s more pronounced in the lower bowl or the other end?I wonder if the sound system still needs balancing.

I sat 3 rows from the glass on the shoot twice side and it was foul.I wonder if the sound system still needs balancing.

Obviously it's going to be different given the section, but don't pump up how amazing the new one is (not you, management) and then ruin it for half the arena.
This is coming from a guy who's been to literally hundreds of shows and festivals.
This makes sense then since we were on the same side of the rink. Guess they had our side speakers turned up louder than the rest.
I'm with you on being to literally hundreds of shows as well so you know it's bad when people who like loud music can't stand it.
I went to Barclay's for Nets games a few times last year and it's simply not an issue there. We were in 133 and same - have been to close to 150 events (games, concerts) the past 6 years or so in many different locations and never did I have any problem with the sound. Saturday, the music was no problem other than loud, but any verbal announcements were impossible for me to understand.
One of the STH perks for this season was a complimentary seat upgrade for a game... well it was very nice (sarcasm) of my ticket rep to email me today that he dropped my upgrade into my account for the game tonight that I can't even attend. I have to say it's not at all a benefit if you give me a ticket to a game without much notice and pick a game where most of the arena is empty for anyway... Thanks?
Eh. They've gone head to head with big games in other sports before. With Yankees game rescheduled to today at 4pm tonight's game could set the all time record low for attendance at the rock. Will be a struggle to have 8K in the building tonight.

Unless a horde of NJ ticket holders are at Yankee stadium they can easily find a place to watch close to the Rock and the baseball game should end before the hockey game starts.Lots of people still don't care about baseball, myself included. There was a snow game vs St. Louis in 2014 where the Devils blew them out that they told everyone in the 100s and 200s that they could go down to the lower bowl if they wanted because so many people stayed home cause of the snow. Was probably like 4k, 5k tops.

Was that the snow game where some players just left their cars on the road and walked to the arena? Maybe against Calgary about 25 years ago?I was at that game as well.
That was a monster blizzard and some people in the clubs were pissed that they let us all in.
4k might be generous tbh but I don't actually know.
I recall the local coverage of that game and while I wished I had gone at the time in retrospect it would have been a suicide ride. That was the 334 club, as in that's how many people showed up.
But I do believe players had issues getting to and from for the 2014 game as well.

Except for the guy directly behind me who keeps screaming at the top of his lungs numbers, not players names. If you're in 1, 2, or 22 you know exactly who I'm talking about.Volume is definitely lower than Saturday so at least it's only my eyes bleeding instead of both those and my ears.
