bottom line is they aren't worth it.
That's a matter of preference.

If you're expecting a vip experience that they are not unless you pony up extra.

However, if you value a bit more privacy and space as I do they're worth considering if the prices are comparable to or lower than the 100's or even the upper lower bowl.

So, I haven't been to a game in a bit, and I was wondering what the best way is to find the cheapest tickets is?

I'm pretty much in line with your thinking on the suites. I value the privacy and for those who want to feel the energy of the crowd I would stay away from the suites as you do feel removed from the vibe of the arena.

The suites are excellent for bringing kids to the games especially the younger ones. I sat in the suites a few times over the past couple seasons and I've noticed families having the same line of thinking. It's much easier to hit the bathroom from suite level than climbing over a bunch of people with a toddler in hand in the regular seating bowl.

The giveaway and themed nights are announced. I'm surprised that there aren't more bobblehead games since those always tend to bring in a bigger crowd. 03 ring is nice and the Devils Marvel comic book giveaway is a cool addition...

Are the Devils doing the home opener Red Carpet event this year?

Yup. Full list of home opener activities is here: Devils Take on Detroit in Home Opener Presented by Citizens | RELEASE

One thing from the above release that stood out to me is apparently they upgrade the sound system. Can anyone with audio expertise weigh in on if this is actually significant?

  • Sound System Updates: Prudential Center will debut their brand-new audio sound system, which consists of eight line arrays and 22 delay ring locations that feature Adamson speakers and Lab Gruppen amplifiers. The system was designed by Anthony James Partners (AJP) and integrated by CV Lloyde and Star-Lo Communications.

I'm no expert but I'm big into surround sound speakers and anyone like yourself who has been going to games for quite awhile should be able to hear the difference. It just sounds so much more clear.

It's all still too loud though. I love loud music but I'm going to a game not a concert, shouldn't have to shout over the music so people around me can hear lol

The new sound system is fantastic but holy hell they need to turn the volume down. It was uncomfortably loud and so annoying to have to yell at the people next to me so they can hear. It wasn't like this in the preseason, they need to turn it down.

I wasn't impressed. Sounded like an echo chamber in 133.

yup, waaaaaaaaaaaay to loud. i was in 116. at one point, i think it was in the 3rd period, they had it at a decent/respectable level briefly, then literally 2 seconds later they turned it way up. i couldn't even hear my son talking to me during stoppages throughout the game.

on the plus side, it helped drown out the people behind me dropping the f bomb every couple minutes and screaming for no reason.

I'm just glad it's not me being a grouch lol

I like loud music but it was just too much, it's bad enough this team is painful enough to watch now they wanna give us hearing loss too.

It’s outrageous and it has been for years. I go to other arenas it’s it’s “normal” volume. There is no reason little children should have to wear ear protection. If enough people complain they might listen.

I'm sending an email to my rep on Monday, I know I complain on here a lot but in my 20 something seasons of being a season ticket holder I can count on probably one hand the amount of times I've actually bothered any of my reps with real complaints.

I suggest you guys also send an email to the team. If enough of us do they will listen since all they have to do is turn the volume down and it won't cost them any money lol it was loud in the preseason and loud in the past but last night was way louder than I've ever remember. Felt absolutely more like a concert than a hockey game.

On the kids aspect, even if they lower the volume a lot it's still recommended for kids to wear head phones

I'll be following you on this even though I'm no longer a STH. The sound was awful (I've already posted my thoughts on it). I'll also let them know their promo tickets with a $20 food/beverage credit was FUBAR'd royally. Nobody behind the counters had any idea how it was supposed to work. One person told us we needed to have a paper ticket for the credit. WTF? Another said the person behind the counter would have to manually enter the barcode that was shown on the phone. Really? This organization, from top to bottom, is a complete joke.

I've been to 5 concerts since June and my ears haven't been this jacked afterwards.

I may sound like a cantankerous old man, but I'm not that old.

i should be able to talk to my boy two seats away without yelling during stoppages in play.

I didn't find it overly loud. Just inaudible due to the echo. Maybe my hearing sucks though?
do you think if they ever closed off the roof or added something different then the echo wouldn't be so bad? i know they have those panels up there but gotta think the tech has gotten better in the last 20ish years

I'll also say this, the food in the goal bar or whatever those suites are called now is leaps and bounds better than the clubs outside of maybe the carving stations.

100% agree with this and have said it before. the clubs when beek was in charge were lightyears from where they are now. probably good reason why beek was going broke but he definitely didnt cheap on the clubs.
