Post-Game Talk: Hero Holl! | Leafs Win 3-2

Wow, I get to laugh my ass off twice. First because there's so few posts up to now (and I'm sure we'd have hundreds more had we lost, and second is this laughable crapola of a post.

We offered Jack nowhere near what he ended up getting so if anything, Dubas gave him the finger. He seems like a super nice guy, I'm sure most Leaf fans wish him well and if you get jollies posting this kind of garbage, then that's a little bit sad.

Good win tonight. Sure it's "only" Ottawa but it's the NHL and there's no such thing as an easy 2 points. That goes for the next game too, hopefully we can win that one as well and maybe even do it a bit more convincingly.

Where the f*ck are these goalies who are making the saves with same consistency that (some) Leaf fans demand in a goalie on a regular basis? By my generous calculations, that goalie should have a save percentage of 0.997, and a goals against avg of 0.348.

Some of y'all are nothing short of neurotic and I'm being kind at that.

Liking Sammy. Holl looked good. 7 capable Dmen is undervalued. Engval meh, let’s see if he picks up. Malgin hasn’t shown much, now that we have space I’d throw Robby in for a game and play a carousel with him Malgin, Engval and whoever else.

Agreed. The only consistent weakness I’ve noticed is playing the puck, but he threaded a beauty two line bank pass off the boards tonight. Hopefully once he gets used to our systems and communicates more confidently his puck play in our zone will get better. Anyone have any idea if his puck skills were a noted weakness in the past?

Yes, definitely one of his weaknesses.

Enjoyed the W, but these should not be 1 goal games. But a lot of new bodies, roles, and faces....so it will take a bit of time.

It's amazing how so many "fans" start pounding the keyboard the minute we lose but winning doesn't seem to interest them at all. :laugh::laugh:

Anyhow, we're not exactly playing amazing so far but I'm not the least bit bothered. I remember how we started last season, we were playing worse than we are now but we were also losing and so many "fans" had us pegged as a bubble team (or worse) before we turned it around. My only minor concern at this point is Murray's health but Samsonov's performance so far goes a long way to make up for that so can't complain too much. Two wins out of three games, could be better but it could also be worse, much worse even so I'll gladly take the 4 points and look forward to the next of the 82 warm up games we have to play before the playoffs start.

Well that’s unfortunate. The good thing is it doesn’t seem like a pure ability issue, as much as just IQ. He just seems to react too slowly which results in leaving himself in tough spots - then he has to rush. TBD. Hopefully it’s coachable.

Happy with the win. I wish our D pinched less. That Holl goal is the 245 yard fairway wood I put on the green in late May that costs me 50 strokes by October, but I’ll take it tonight.
 
Hey guys congrats on the win tonight. Here for fantasy hockey purposes.

Is Samsonov a lock to play on Monday vs Arizona?
 
Do people want others to crap on the Leafs, lol.

The boys are playing much better than against the Habs.
I think the AM, MM and Bunting will start to dominate like they can. It was a little pathetic to see Tyler Motte and others limiting their plays.

PP and PK are good.
Willie is playing good and so is JT. I think Malgin is doing a lot of little things that helping this line.

Kerfoot is a much better player when he is playing with guys that are more his level.
 
We are so Lucky to have samsonov and our whole group is so joyful and united now. Our captain is playing his Best game also and even if muzzin makes some mistakes, he has made some mind altering hits this season. Like 90' rock em sock em boom! ! !
