Eddie Lack sounding rattled post game. Mentally weak.

Lack is the most light hearted and happy-go-lucky guy around. The way he speaks english makes him sound nervous a lot but Im sure he feels bad for Lou and probably for losing such a big game under the circumstances.

He is most definitely not mentally weak.

'We want Lu!' Let's be honest though, that chant was a shot directed at Tortz and MG.

I honestly don't get what are driving at here, it's an entirely different group of players, with different mental make ups, that lost a series in completely different way.

What I'm saying, is that this group, from management to players, broke when they lost that Final. Call it whatever you like but that loss ruined the team.

Even you admitted it yourself: we aren't Pittsburgh. So the thing that comes out of this is it's a question of what team you have, not the situation you faced (SCF loss) that's the determining factor. That they were able to overcome it because they're the Pens and we're not i.e because they were good enough a team to do so. That is, if we were good enough too we'd be able to get back there as well.

Why do you think teams are mentally equal?

Do you mean to say that somehow the Canucks ended up with all mental midgets? Even if it were true to a small extent, I can't see it being significant enough of a factor to affect virtually an entire locker room in the way they handle adversity out there.

And this is to say nothing of the notion that somehow they've been mailing it in for the last few years because of one win 2 seasons ago.

The Pens have two generational talents on the same team. As much as I like the Sedins, they just don't compare to either Sid or Malkin and those guys are younger to boot. That's a lot of latitude to have when it comes to keeping the beat going on for a team.

But two superstars alone don't make a team. Everyone knows that. Otherwise we'd see them in the final every year. There's a lot more going on than just who has the most star players and who doesn't. Luck, injuries and all these other things.

Despite everything surrounding the team, it was still a fun game to be at.

I will say I supported Lack getting the nod, but once I got in the building I changed my tune a bit. The game should have been Luongo's start. The crowd was really pro-Luongo and let the team know it, felt a bit bad for Lack.

The highlights for me were the crowd booing Messier, Kesler getting inadvertently skipped over in the pre-game intros, and two drunk chicks getting kicked out.

Not yet, but I don't think it's looking too good for him. As soon as he went down, you could see that he wasn't getting up. When the play went the other way, he just stayed there and didn't move.

Thanks, didn't see that, cameras follow the play I guess.

well if we not making the playoffs.......we can hope Horvat or Gauce/Fox win a memorial cup........there will be some pressure for them to do well in 2014 training camp

I don't know about "mental midgets" but...

-Gillis says the Canucks never “collectively got their emotions together†after beating the Bruins in Boston on Jan. 7 in a game that was “almost like playing a Stanley Cup final game in the middle of the season.â€

...I wouldn't call that mental strength.

What a joke of a response by Tortz. He's either covering for MG who is trying to trade Lu at the deadline or he can gtfo.

If it has nothing to do with a trade, then this was a disgusting move by Tortorella and it is going to rub the rest of the team wrong as well. HE talks about how both are great goalies, but he talks about how many games are left and how that's why Lack was starting. I think he's lying through his teeth and is covering for MG. If we do make the playoffs, it's pretty obvious that we are going to get our faces kicked in during the first round.

Haha, I love it. He helps balance some of the overly negative Nancys on the board.

I think it's great that he's so positive all the time, it's nice to see for a change instead of the usual depressing ********.

what do you mean......

I don't think it's bad that you are so positive. Perhaps I've been a Canuck fan so damn long I've become too jaded.

As a borderline pessimist, I just find it a bit foreign myself.

Yeah, when I saw Daniel go down the way he did and how he looked once he was down, I didn't think he was getting up. I was surprised the CBC guys didn't follow it or comment about it until afterwards.

the worst is I still have not gone to a game yet........I want to even if the team may not play well...... It is still possible that a seller could sneak into the playoff because of some of the youth or maybe not......don't think that happen before

He got hit pretty hard and was down for a really long time. I read hamstring but that makes no sense to me. I thought he hit his head actually but it could have been a leg, I guess. No replays in the arena, has there been any clear shots of it?

My first thought was head as well as he went pretty hard into the boards and kinda laid on the ice after the hit. Hopefully it's not a concussion or something serious.
