I love Matthews and am super critical of Andersen but AM34 is wearing the dunce cap on that play.

But generally, yes, we can't move forward with Andersen. Tonight, it wasn't all on him.

I'm not gonna place all the blame on Andersen because tonight the rest of the team wasn't all that great and they made some big mistakes in front of him, HOWEVER Andersen has to come up big for the team at least some of the time instead of almost never.

Your goalie can't only look good when the team in front of him is looking good, if you're a good goalie you need to be good/great even when the rest of the team is crap at times. Andersen doesn't ever seem capable of stealing games for the team and he can't even make some big saves to give his team a chance to win most of the time.

When the Leafs aren't playing well, I have no faith that Andersen can keep his team in the game. Freddy has had far too many chances to prove himself and he's largely shown to be not up to the job most of the time. Give Campbell a stretch of games when he's ready and see what he can do because Freddy sure as hell isn't the answer.

That game from Holl was an absolute abomination, one of the worst games from a defenceman I've seen in a long time. That 3rd goal, he was deeper in the net than Anderson. He must have had one helluva party last night

Anderson is not a terrible goalie.
But unfortunately he is truly below average for a starter. He can’t be letting that last goal in. It was a quick play and nice hands by Appleton (we’ve seen nylander, Spezza and Hyman score similar goals at times), but ultimately he needs to have that. Freddie is slightly below the quality of the rest of the team at the moment; for years he was well above, and maybe that is a problem now in a way.
