Freddy has been ass since the start of last season
At some point, we ARE allowed to ask for Freddy to consistently be the better goalie.
At this point he can’t seem to do it longer than 1-2 games
And this division.... doesn’t have very good goalies
so just caught the last minute of the game. marner the shinpad warriorhow did we even play the entire game? looking at the boxscore looks like we outshot them. so did freddy suck or did we have defensive breakdowns?
I know, I like him too. Great story, solid performer, but what in blue hell was that?I am one of Holls biggest fanboys but he's been ass a few times in a row here, I wouldn't mind giving Lilly a game.
That game from Holl was an absolute abomination, one of the worst games from a defenceman I've seen in a long time. That 3rd goal, he was deeper in the net than Anderson. He must have had one helluva party last night
Justin Holl reminded me of that Christopher Nolan The Prestige tonight. Tonight was the AHL brother's turn to play.
It's just a shame that so many of those mistakes ended in the back of our net.The Jets were comically bad defending tonight so it's hard to get too upset over the occasional mistake the Leafs made. Whether it's Andersen's fault or not, it's time to move on from him, hopefully Campbell can stay healthy and steal the net. Matthews doesn't try to make a 3 foot high kick save if he trusts the goalie behind him, having a goalie you can't trust perpetuates mistakes.
He's a starter on a team with aspirations to make the playoffs, but he is not a goaltender you make a serious cup run with.
Leafs had 51 scoring chances and 24 high danger chances in that game.
Jets had 20 and 6.
This is the definition of getting goalied. one goalie made the tough saves, and the other didn’t
He is literally a Vezina goalie. Thats a Vezina goalie vs a mediocre goalie tonight.Hellebuyck looked like a Vezina goalie. Wow.
Annoying game really. Leafs outplayed them but the Jets managed to capitalize on a couple opportunities they got.
While I don't want to join a pile-on for Andersen, he probably should have stopped at least one of those 4 goals tonight
If we're demoralized imagine how the players feel.Got goalied.
Winnipeg is horrific defensively but Hellebuyck covers all of that up for them. Contrast that with every scoring chance ending up in the Leafs net and it makes for an infuriating night.
Tough to toll the dice on Hutch in fairness. If Campbell was healthy I'd get itKeep playing Andersen.
Amongst other things.
Some players have a knack for making backbreaking and deflating plays (or non-plays) and we have one or two. Andersen is definitely making Dubas' offseason decision easier.
Aside from Andersen, holy crap Kerfoot how many chances is he going to miss. He also isn't great on the PK.
quite franly given this thread the worst day ever in recent leafs history seems to be the day we traded Tuukka Rask
