The team has also been constantly outshooting the opponents of late. Ya some shots are junk, but they still get some high quality chances. The team hasn't really been embarrassed since maybe the Ottawa collapse? It's just being outdueled in net in certain games. Overall, team has been playing pretty well game-to-game.

Better goalie won. Hellebuyck stole that game and Andersen continues to fall short. He will shrink in the playoffs again.

Hopefully it's for somebody else. Trade him.

This is the definition of getting goalied. one goalie made the tough saves, and the other didn’t

I think we played really well, close to dominating. Lots and lots of chances. Kerfoot and Marner missed excellent scoring chances. Freddy was the difference maker, in the negative sense. Though I was pretty frustrated with Holl, Reilly, and Marner, too. Hellebuck stole it, credit where its due.

That said in terms of defensive breakdown Rielly messed up badly on the last goal. Unforced turnover and then does nothing to cover anyone (he was deep in our d zone). Holl was struggling all night. Matthews made a really dumb deflection with his skate, like a 3ft high kick, just to deflect it slightly and f*** with Freddy.

Actually, I am having an interesting observation and experience today. Since I did not watch the game and we lost; I am not as hot and pissed off.

I am sure if I was watching the game I would be ready to punch someone LOL

quite franly given this thread the worst day ever in recent leafs history seems to be the day we traded Tuukka Rask

JFJ cursed our goaltending with that trade. He could’ve f***ing gotten Raycroft off waivers if he’d just waited but noooooo the f***er just had to trade for him. Now he works for the Bruins (or at least did). f*** him.

Some players have a knack for making backbreaking and deflating plays (or non-plays) and we have one or two. Andersen is definitely making Dubas' offseason decision easier.

Aside from Andersen, holy crap Kerfoot how many chances is he going to miss. He also isn't great on the PK.

I felt for Kerfoot on that first PK. Worked his ass off, has a great shift, then a random tip ends up in our net. Feels like he's 85% of a solid player but can't make that last jump

Leafs played good but made some really poor choices that Jets capitalized on.

I'd say that Ottawa collapse doesn't happen with adequate goaltending either. A few saves and we coast to a win, but everything ended up in the back of our net

He was just BS lucky as well Jets had two shots on at least half the net when he was swimming around in one sequence.
