That’s it for me. I’m done losing hours of sleep, looking at these clowns in Jets uniforms embarrass themselves on the ice. I’ll just stick to watching highlights until this nosedive is over and, hopefully, we have a new coach...

Many fans feel the same way watching this team spin their wheels in the mud night after night with poor leadership and coaching staff.

I am beyond frustrated watching this shit and seeing the Tampa game in person on friday was a boiling point for me.

Time to fix this garbage now.

Overrated by whom? All I hear is how we need D and this isn’t PoMo’s fault.

I don’t think a coaching change solves everything, but there’s literally no upside to keeping Maurice around at this point. 5-9-3 stretch is grounds for firing unless you’re in a rebuild. He should be done.

They've had .889 goaltending in that time.

WINDOW IS NOW CLOSED. Time for chevy to get back to work. The pieces are there. No way this much talent should be performing so badly so consistently.

This is so out of touch with the actual NHL. Every team's 'window' opens and shuts fluidly, and for every contender there's a span of years where they could possibly make hay. One day the Blues were all weird press conferences about 'independent contractors' and even they were just an bigoted goalie away from the promised land. The Capitals were so cursed by the Penguins that they had two contention windows seemingly open and close before they finally broke through. Even the Pens themselves went through three coaches in a year before winning two cups in a row.

You're emotional. I get it--we all are. But overreacting is foolish.

There is lots to complain about but i keep coming back to this defense , it's awful . Bitetto has no skill , Sbisa is a 6th or 7th defenseman , Kulikov needs to go , always hurt and a cement head , i don't know about Niku yet , Pionk and Morrissey are all we have right now and Pionk doesn't have a good enough shot to run our PP from the point . 2 guys i'm done with though are Frenchie and Kulikov , they make too much money for what they bring to the ice every night . Little can't come back soon enough because Copp doesn't belong on a second line and man does this team miss Buff , his offensive awareness , his physical play , his passing to our forwards out of our zone , and his ability to run a PP from the point .

Yep. Even back in the day you could count on Buff to pair with a borderline NHL d-man and carry him on his back to good results. Indeed, it can be argued that Buff is responsible for Chiarot's big pay day and Clitsome's retirement contract. That removed the stress of having to worry about atleast one of the pairings. We don't have that guy anymore that can carry a pairing by sheer force of will. His physicality is greatly missed, he made things entertaining even in the games we were awful and kept the other team in check (even if he took a few penalties in the process). We are just no way near the same team without him.

this team this team. it starting at coach and maybe some others person at top. maybe there is not knowledge at top how to be successful and general knowledge in hockey. i say this for example they put out better players from team in recent years and at this day team is not playing hockey and still coach is saying all is good. today we have bad luck, yeasterdays we have bad referee, and day Before we play well but but. this of course making mirrors from players and acting looking lazy and misinterested at ice . team also only playing dump puck and hunt on hockey. this team like from 70´s dropped at year 2020. say armia holding house at third and fourth line at this team and he was like this team heart Before he go. this showing this team coach and other tops dont know hockey. very horryfieying at this level. i have Watch this since laine enter League and getting amazed at this whole circus going on.

this team has nothing no heart no soul no hockey no idea. first line can not ( tactic by coach?) hold puck at offensive zoun and playing around , keeping puck there. no. instead there is a C there playing for himself of with only O´connors. laine letted and demanded there to surf around slot with his overlong stick to wait for pass that will never come from to players in loveaffair while not being selfish which is most times. laine. listen. CUTTING - THAT - STICK- FOR SHORTER ONES and play for yourself the time left at here. ok? you must start using shorter sticks, and harder ones to get along with puck while crowded area etc. this very horrifieying while team stuff and coaches doing nothing. night after night we see laine not being able to play with too long stick and this go on and on. he has today maybe cemented this Believe in himself. thanks coach!. so first line catastorphy and also Wheelers . i see a very narrow team here. trustet to some weird players. i see no dept , no talant at this team. they have all gone. left is this circusteam. start booking holidays for after last game at 82 Schedule. this team not going after it. and if it still would, by some miracle of a fart, you know where it ends. 1st rounds

It seems to me that Maurice is done. Not because a coaching change will help this season, but simply because he doesn't have a contract. I don't see how Chevy can sign him again under these circumstances. Now is the perfect time to pick the guy you think can actually help get things done, and if you aren't sure that's Maurice at this point then he has to go.

We are coming back from the extended break with back to back Bruins and Blues....the coaching and media excuse will be expect sloppy play and a slow start. Even worse they are at home where they have been consistently poor. The first 7'days after the break we play Blues twice, Bruins and Preds....without a major shakeup four more losses. The org should be super concerned about where this team will be in 2 weeks during the prolonged Feb home stand.

Buff in his day made a huge difference in tone of the game. Not just in play, but by intensity rubbing off on teammates.

Sure he committed the occasional defensive gaffe, but you'd rarely, if ever, saw him coasting. He'd probably tear you a new one if he caught you doing it.

A thing of beauty. I particularly like the gentle, "please sir, go ahead" wave at Buff's stick by the checker, who then pauses to watch and admire the spinorama rather than try to actually hinder the big man. True Jedi mind tricks.

Well, as a fan of this team/franchise for 45 or so years by definition I am emotional. As for your explanation of the "actual NHL" I say balderdash.

The Jets 2 years ago were contenders. They were inarguably a top team in the league with a very young and talented roster and a legit Stanley Cup threat. They should have been a threat for the next several seasons. 1 1/2 years later the threat is gone. I argue no one could have forseen this squad falling / failing so far so fast. Not going to break down all the issues nor causes but this team is no longer a contender. Huge changes need to occur to get back to being one.

You mention the Blues. They have been consistent contenders for several seasons in a row. Last year they went out and acquired OReilly as the missing piece. Team shat the bed for the first 40 or so games. Coaching change and a goalie switch and they win a cup. Know what? They are legit contenders for the cup again and are the best team in the Western Conference.

The Capitals have been contenders for years. Not winning the cup is very different than their window closing. Maybe you did not notice the Caps are the top team in the league?

The Penguins have been contenders for years. Again, winning the cup is very different than their window closing. And when they struggled they made changes. And won. And they are legit contenders again this year. 4th overall and Crosby has missed over 25 games.

One other thing i miss about Buff is his ability to stand on a puck along the boards with one foot waiting for the right time to kick pass it to a teamate . No one and i mean no one could get the puck from him when he did this .

A year late but Chevy needs to stop the bleeding.
Chevy fiddling while Rome burns is pretty on-brand for him. Goaltender problems? Sign a variety of backups and wait for a prospect to develop. Defense problems? Sign/pick up a bunch of fringe NHLers and wait for Samberg and Heinola and Stanley to make it.

Anyone expecting decisive action out of Mr. Dithers will probably have to wait for his hand to be forced or until he steps up to the mic in June at the draft.

That being said, the defense is so terrible, I fully expect a forced-hand moment, so get ready for Hamonic at $5.5M x 5 or something equally terrible.
