Hartman's actions and "reasoning" perfectly encapsulate a significant part of NHL culture. "Your guy did something to one of mine, so I'm gonna return the favour." Don't take the number of the guy that committed the offence. Go after someone completely uninvolved.
The Perron Strategy.

It was from the Jets post game coverage, you won’t find it on the Wild board, maybe the playoff series thread but that’s not searchable. I’m not reading through 10k jets posts to find an inkling of it, go ahead and do it yourself. You can read the GDTs and probably get a feel for the fan emotion of the time, consider the players emotions during that and you might have an idea of why it seemed at least believable for the Wild players.
The Wild playoff thread started April 1st and ended April 20th. You can search the Minnesota Wild boards for mentions of the word "bounty" with the date range Newer: 2018-04-01 and Older: 2018-04-20.

The word "bounties" yield 0 results. The word "bounty" yield 2 results, neither of which claim that there was a video showing that the Jets had a bounty board.

Those are the only occurrences of the word "bounty" or "bounties". Using that date range and restricting the search to the Minnesota Wild subforum, you should be able to find any posts corroborating what you're claiming.

Dillon does cross check Kiprasoft and technically that's a penalty and should get called but holey shit that happens all game long, every player does it. I'm just starting to think Kiprasoft is a.......:naughty::laugh:

He was injured in the exact same spot during the calendar year, and has been confirmed to not be fully recovered, it’s a long term recovery. If you think that other teams aren’t well aware of this fact than you don’t understand the league, Suter and Dillon are the only ones I have seen this season target the lower back like that, both took two consecutive shots at him there with full force, that is the “unusual” parts of the crosschecks. If it were your star teammate taking those shots you would be upset as demonstrated by this very topic.

My only point in posting in here, drop the holier than thou attitude. Hockey is an emotional sport, and these teams have a history of interactions that leave both sides very angry at each other.

Full leverage crosscheck to the face? Really?

For future reference, this is what a full leverage crosscheck to the face looks like:

You didn’t read the full sentence. Full leverage cross check after a face off.
As far as the morrissey cross check goes no jets fan defends that. It should have been a penalty but didn’t get called
There was clearly no intent. Josh isn’t even looking in stalls direction. Accidental.

Man the jets dominated the wild that playoff series good times.

It's amazing that people are posting an outlandish conspiracy theories which if ever came out would shake the entire NHL and be the biggest story in the NHL since the Kyle Beach situation and when asked for evidence the reply is "Just trust me bro".

This "Byfuglien was placing bounties to injure Wild players" is some Q-Anon level shit and I am surprised that there are Wild fans who seem to genuinely believe it. It must not go without mentioning that when Buff retired just 1 year after the said playoff series, Wild management tried to sign him, would they even consider doing it if these claims had any foundation in reality? Not to mention Wild also signed Matt Hendricks who was part of the Jets that series right after that playoff run.

Not holier-than-thou thanks, it comes from Minnesota fans thinking the Jets are dirty when their team has had and still has some of the dirtiest players on their team. If you have dirty players doing dirty shit it just might come back full circle.

I'm mostly just calling you out on the wording "full leverage crosscheck", when it's clearly neither a crosscheck nor done at full leverage.

And I'm not saying that to absolve Hartman - it's an obvious high sticking done "accidentally on purpose".

Mixed feelings about this. He deserves the fine, obviously. But I don’t love using the mics in this manner. The point of mic’ing up a player is to get a glimpse into the raw emotion of the game at ice level, not to build evidence for DOPS cases.
Probably why it was only a fine and not suspension. A suspension might start getting into that nobody wants to be mic'd up territory.

Agreed. It seems like it was 'inadmissible evidence', because if they could have 'used' that against Hartman he probably would have been suspended. Then again it's the NHL, who knows

A cross check is hitting with the stick horizontally held in both hands - check

Full leverage - after the face off he pulls up the stick, in cross check form might I add, into perfettis face. He didn’t get stitches from a love tap - check

I’m gonna have to say I’m right on both counts! Sorry!

Exactly right.

Hartman literally got fined for high sticking, not crosschecking.

If that's not enough, here's how cross checking is defined in the NHL rules, relevant part bolded:

59.1 Cross-checking - The action of using the shaft of the stick between the two hands to forcefully check an opponent.

But sure, you can believe what you want.

This post, just hilarious. I am well aware that the Wild play on the edge, but apparently Winnipeg doesn’t sell mirrors (probably for good reason) or you might actually look at your own teams contributions to this.

Kaprizov is a bandaid.
Hartman is a weasel. I'm sure he will get taken out by any one of the teams he has suspensions against. He's deserving of being stretchered off. Karma.

Jets and Wild games get rough (Kunin on Little, Morrissey on Staal, Stanley on Kaprizov though that looked accidental, Hartman on Ehlers, and then Dillon and Kaprizov and the latest Hartman high stick), but it's really only the Wild that this seems to happen against for the Jets. Only the Leafs and Habs would probably share the Wild's attitude and both of those stem from an individual incident and not a pattern of rough stuff both ways.

Any word if Captain Blake Wheeler was black balled from any games of shinny over the incident? Or just Buff?

Ive seen plenty of threads where homers try to justify or minimize dirty hits but I don’t think I’ve ever run into a thread where a bunch of posters accept the play as dirty but justify it by a dozen things that never happened. Stop drinking that Mississippi water, it’s clearly causing hallucinations.

Hahaha. You love your semantics.

You are correct, technically a Hartman high sticked perfetti in the face after the face off like a coward. The cross check language was used as a descriptor to highlight how he was holding the stick when the bottom shaft of his stick made contact across perfettis face.

The point is this isn’t some one handed stick waving where the blade caught the face.
He had both hands on his stick because you need the leverage for a face off. He then raised it with both hands horizontally and made perfetti eat the shaft of his stick like the dirty coward he is.

Well Hartman is gonna be suspended for a while

Agreed. Ignoring the fact that they are all in the same union and their loyalties are only extend as far as their contracts.

Look, if you have to target the young, small guy on the team because your too chicken shit to go after the perceived offender, then I'm honestly just embarrassed for you.

Like come on Wild, have at least some self respect.

Going after the offender never works. You have to target the other teams best players/prospects.
