It was in the Jets own media coverage at the time, they showed the board up in the locker room post game, and it leaked to the media but Buff implied it was for shutting them down, while smiling and handing a wad of cash to Scheifele and Chiarot after the Parise hit.

Without diving deep into 8 year old Jets YouTube coverage the below is a snippet of where these teams were at during the series and I don’t think there’s been any resolution since then.

If it leaked to the media at the time, why was there nothing written about it? Why doesn't googling those keywords yield any results?

Do you have anything supporting what you're saying? Otherwise I'm going to assume you're willfully spreading misinformation.

Your link does not support your claims. It just says the teams played a physical playoff series.

There is a link to the Wild forum discussing the playoff series. Surely there must be something in there about this supposed bounty board?

I mean, one was a penalty from an intentional slash to the face, the other was a routine cross-check that happens in every single board battle in the NHL, take your pick..

I don't have a dog in the fight and don't really care about either team... but you just described two penalties... neither is a hockey play no matter how much it happens in a game.

I see the Jets as a team that just plays hard and physical, but they do it cleanly. Guys like Dillon and Lowry are tough mofos, but they’re important players too and they’re not out there throwing cheap shots. Logan Stanley made a body check on Kaprizov last season - it’s clearly not an intent to injure and it’s not his fault he’s twice Kaprizov’s size. Shit happens.

The Wild on the other hand… well, Ryan Hartman obviously does what he does. You have a GM who openly foams at the mouth to bring in guys like Maroon and Reaves to form a goon squad because you know you don’t have enough talent to win meaningful games. Your entire “grit first” slogan on a team that takes a shit ton of penalties isn’t exactly hiding what your goal is. But hey, keep pointing fingers at other teams for being dirty - I’m sure you’ll convince someone someday.

Good in all ways. Punish Hartman for being dirty. And make Dillon and Winnipeg regret what he did.

So this is what I love about it. It’s old school

It’s the only way stuff like Dillon’s actions will ever be dealt with.

Ref calls nothing on the Winnipeg Dillon cross checks on star player Kaprizov. He ends up hurt

Ok

So what should Minnesota do? Go after Dillon? Why? That’s not payback. Payback is…you go for my good player, I’ll go for yours.

I hope Perfetti went back to the bench angry. At Hartman AND at Dillon.

I wish my Leafs had the nuts to do this.

Hartman is such a weasel he probably didn't do it on purpose but after he saw it was little Perfetti he said he did it on purpose. Wouldn't have said shit to Dillon or Lowry .
Simple.

Why would Hartman say anything to Dillon or Lowry. When Dillon cross checks Kaprizov and hurts him the only payback is hurt a Jet top player. Hurt a player that will piss off the jets

The finest strings of yarn connecting names and pictures on an evidence board you ever did see, I assume.

Other than that, after a little bit of googling, there does no appear to have been any major, minor, or existing reporting on this. Maybe the league didn't act because no one ever reported on it. Or because it literally never happened. Who knows.

Given what happened with Bounty gate in the NFL you damn well bet had the Jets did something like it the league would have hit them hard and it would have been justified.

Hey I hear you. But really, you watch the play from Dillon and that happens 20 times a game from everyone in board battles. If they start calling those penalties every time it would be non stop 4-4 hockey.

The hit just caught kirill funny as his pad moved. And also kirill is made of glass and possibly pillow soft.

p***y high sticks in the face off circle is the exact opposite of old school my dude.

This was entitled new school millennial - just drop the gloves and hit hard in the corner - like Dillon and Lowry do!

I mean... the cross-checks are more vicious than Hartman's tap.

Neither is a hockey play, and I'd probably want some retaliation (better retaliation) against Winnipeg...

Not excusing the high stick (obviously stupid), but the cross-checks were not just pushing the guy off the puck either. Neither play should probably have happened.

Yeah I'm not forgetting the numerous things Jets players have done in the past here, if you're looking for sympathy for the Jets, I'm not the one
LMFAO. Even before all the little miss Kaprizov b.s. youve had clowns like Reeves dragging his knuckles around the ice looking to injure people and lets not forgot the duke of dirtbags Marcus Foligno who likes to knee guys in the head when theyre down . Gotta love how Hartman goes after the smallest guys on the ice when he's looking for "retribution". This was his "revenge" for last years Softprizov injury . The wild have been dirty rats for years.

Yep. That resulted in half the front office being suspended. Head coach for a year, defensive coordinator indefinitely, GM for half a season. It also resulted in loss of draft picks, and the biggest possible fine against the organization (which apparently was a paltry half a million bucks).

It is the biggest scandal in recent NFL history. It would have been reported EVERYWHERE, not just in NHL media but in main stream media in general, if there had been evidence that the Jets did that.

Thank you for sharing the link - I kind of doubt that you can conclusively say the high stick was intentional without the audio, so I do wonder if the NHLPA steps in here.

I think the reason it was a fine and not a suspension was because you couldn't 100% say it was deliberate. Perfetti made this comment about the audio after thr fine was announced. I certainly would've had some doubt that it was on purpose without Hartman being caught on video (though it's Hartman so it turned a 95% to 100%).

I also empathize with Wild fans that Kaprizov was injured twice against the Jets but its only really the Wild and their fans that seem to think the Jets are the Broadstreet Bullies reincarnate. There was the hit on Ehlers last year that essentially ended his season by the Wild, also I remember Bryan Little missing time after he was hit in the head by Kunin in the preseason a few years back. Even Friedman on 32 Thoughts said the league wide rep of Minnesota is these wannabe tough guys that don't like getting stood up to.

That schiefele guy is a super clean player.

Only lost more games to suspension than Hartman

I've apparently got my tinfoil hat on this morning but I don't think the NHL is in the same optics position to eat a scandal like that given their limited reach and the off-ice scandals of the time. The literal last thing they need is a bounty scandal making it even more dangerous to play the game hitting the news.

I don't think they'd ignore it, but I can't say I trust them to be completely open about it either.

I’m ok with that too. Not sure you’d be and I don’t think it would work because old school
wouldn’t be to go after Dillon.

Because it was Minnys best player that was hurt, the old school would be going after one of winnipegs best.

So you’d be ok if Hartman grabbed Perfetti after the faceoff and fought him instead? Lol

It totally happens a lot every game. But once it hurts a teams star player there is gonna be payback.

The Minnesota feed, it looked inadvertent.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Number 4 Merrill literally gives Appleton the exact same cross check on the Niederreiter goal.

Play literally happens in every board battle.

Show some examples of a full leverage cross check to the face after a face off.

Pretty hot take my dude. I humble disagree with it.
