Yes but I don't think that the Rangers would guarantee any of these guys an AHL position because of Garand. So the other clubs may have presented a better starting opportunity in the AHL. Bussi has played 18 games, Garant 17 and Guzda 16. Stevenson is in the ECHL but played 3 games in Hershey and Hershey has two 27 year old goalies so Stevenson is really the top professional prospect.
I know for a fact that the Rangers were never seriously interested in Brandon. Boston, Florida, Vegas and another team from out west were the teams that really wanted him. In the end it came down to Boston and Florida. The team that knew Brandon the best was Florida, since he trained with the Loungo brothers every summer when he was younger.

To our Wolfpack experts.....what can we expect to see from Cuylle based on what you have seen for the Pack?
I wouldn't expect much. I don't say that to be critical of Cuylle, who is having a fine rookie campaign, but the reality is I don't think he's ready to be a contributor. I think you can expect him to play hard but inconsistently from shift to shift while he adapts to the pace, he'll play a chippy game and maybe get into a fight, and he'll do good work in the dirty areas. If he gets an opportunity to rip it, he will, and has a good shot.

this is the one thing that stood out to me as far as pro potential watching him in the wjc. how has his skating looked in hfd / if you saw him in both does it look improved? also not trying to be critical or imply he is/isnt anything at this point in his career to be clear. but to me he was straight line fast but looked pretty stiff at times out there. looked like a guy that needed to play a bit lower to get smoother and be able to turn with pucks as well as get quicker out of stops. when he would forecheck and the d escaped his initial angle he struggled to cut and retain/rebuild speed taking a new angle or get back into a position on top of the puck. similarly defensively he struggled at times getting to pucks coming up the wall if it were wrapped from the other side and he had some ground to cover and wasnt the best at recovery if a d stopped and started on the blue line on him.

not at all expecting perfection at this point and find it hard to believe hes ready for a full time role, but do think its good to give him a cup of coffee. at this point hes at least got a little pro experience. hopefully it helps him really understand where he needs to be overall to stay at the nhl level. and to be clear, while his skating does give me some concerns, i also dont want it to come off as thinking hes just horrible in the areas i highlighted. its more to say i think at last viewing it was the area that put him the furthest from pro hockey. hoping youve seen some steps taken in that regard in hfd this year....because everything else about his game gives him a chance to become a really important bottom 6 player for a long time.

Totally agree. I'm a fan of Will, but from the limited time that I've seen him. I thought his skating was mediocre at best. Hope it has improved in thevladt 6 months or so.

Garand starts tonight. Same defense with Skinner and Wilenski scratched. Blais with Brodzinski and Fritz. Gettinger, Carpenter and Elson. Trivigno, Rydahl and Pajuniemi and Henriksson with Rempe and DiGiacinto.

I don't like loading the vets together, dropping Pajuniemi to the third line and dropping Henriksson to the fourth line and Skinner sitting on the bench.

With an opportunity to make a big move up the standing the Pack laid an egg. I watched the first 90 seconds until the Ranger game. Bridgeport completely dominated. And Bridgeport goes on to score 5 straight goals before winning 6-2.

Bridgeport goals:

1. Giutarri tried to pass to Scanlin but misses leading to the Pack scrambling and leaving a man completely uncovered in front but Elson and Gettinger did have great looks at the goal. Garand didn't have a chance.

2. Emberson doesn't cover his man breaking to the net for a tip in. Garand didn't have a chance.

3. On a PP Garand makes the stop but doesn't control the rebound and the Bridgeport player taps it in. Garand had a chance.

Garand pulled.

3-0 after 1.

4. Emberson tried to stop a play in the neutral zone but Bridgeport able to break in and Emberson doesn't get back in time and Bridgeport walks in for a goal. Domingue doesn't have a chance.

5. Pajuniemi has control of the puck in the offensive zone and tries to pass to Scanlin but misses. Bridgeport picks up the puck in its offensive zone but the Pack have players covered except the Bridgeport player goes around Giutarri and walks in alone. Domingue doesn't have much of a chance.

After the Pack score 2 Bridgeport gets an empty net goal. Hartford with 20 shots in the third but too little too late.

On the second goal on the PP Blais picks up the puck behind the net and comes around the goal and shoots it home. A nice play by him. He had 4 SOG but he also had 2 penalties and for what it's worth was -3.

From the little I saw it looked like this might have been the team's worst outing of the season, certainly in a long time.

Particularly bad nights for Giutarri and Emberson.

... except maybe for that week of the IIHF U18s (long time ago, in a galaxy far far away ..
And to reiterate what I've said before--I really do WANT for Lindbom to magically work out. I would love that! It would be so much fun.

Unfortunately, I don't think he has it in him.

One of Domingue or Garand must be hurt or sick or something. Lindbum is terrible. His ECHL numbers are abysmal. He has literally never been good.
After the second goal against in the Bridgeport game I think, Dylan Garand was skating around a bit, almost as if he was testing his leg. After the third goal he was replaced by Domingue.
Could be Garand?

Anyone else having issues with tonight’s AHL.TV feed? Video feed has been out of focus since the beginning of the game. Watching on a Roku device.
