Happy with the play of the Wolf Pack recently. Have been enjoying their effort and determination.
The Providence goalie Bussi almost stole the game. Could have easily been 6-3 Pack.
Other than the sleeping by 3 of the 5 Hartford players on the ice when Letteri scored the SH goal, it was another satisfying win.
Wolf Pack score’s we’re Brodzinski, Emberson, Carpenter and Cuylle with the O/T winner.

The Providence goalie, Brandon Bussi, is a Long Island kid that the Rangers tried very hard to sign this off season but he chose Boston. The Rangers only signed Lindbom after they struck out on Bussi, Clay Stevenson, who signed with the Caps and Mack Guzda, who signed with Florida, and perhaps others who were not publicly reported. Too bad Bussi didn't signed with his favorite team growing up. Hartford outshot Providence 42-26. Rodolfo nailed Bussi's performance.

Same lineup today as yesterday with Skinner sitting for his fifth straight game and Reuschhoff remaining in the penalty box except that Rydahl out injured again and Brodzinski takes his place between Henriksson and Trivigno. This is the tenth game Rydahl has missed this year out of 39.

Hartford is tied with Bridgeport and Springfield in points but playing one less game so they are int sixth. The team is only 3 points behind 3rd place Charlotte. Only Providence and Hershey are out of reach. I'm going to the Hershey -- Hartford game in Hershey in a few weeks. That should be fun.

Trivigno with two assists. He makes a great pass to Emberson on the second goal. Somehow he got an assist on the first goal. Brodzinski wins the face-off and the puck goes back to Giutarri who shoots and Brodzinski puts in the rebound. I rewound the goal a few times and while Trivigno was near the puck I didn't see him touch and get it to Giutarri. Cuylle now 23rd and Trivigno 37th in AHL rookie scoring but only a couple of points out of the top ten.

In a injury context I'd have no problem bringing up Cuylle at least for a few games but right now there aren't any openings so he should stay where he's at.....and as a team we're not in an experimental stage any longer. There's no point farting around with the lineup unless we have to.

I'm sure part of it is if you're a young free agent goaltender and you see a guy who's on his way to winning a Vezina it kind of tells you your chances of being a starting goaltender there are kind of nil.

If Cuylle is playing every situation in Hartford I see no reason to rush him. A full season+ in the AHL will be better for his development as you said

Watched a good chunk of the games this weekend. Team is suddenly deep upfront with addition of Brodz, Gettinger and Carpy. Cuylle and Trivigno both playing well and showing off their skills. Both growing in confidence. Both getting better. They are perfect right where they are.

Having a deeper team is helping both. There’s really only one bottom line and that’s the one with Rempe, Digacinto and Tardif. All three other lines have decent AHL skill. And Reuschoff, Rydahl are currently out! That’s very good AHL depth. Also considering Khodorenko is out for the season just lots of depth suddenly everywhere. Wish Brodz was still with the big club.

They outplayed Providence for most of the night and on the 3rd night of 3 in a row.

I also liked Henrikssons game a lot. He played with Trivigno and Gettinger. While Fritz, Cuylle abd Paju were a unit for much of the game.

To whoever pointed out Emberson’s game is emerging, they were vindicated tonight and over this weekend. He’s coming along. Seems comfortable. The entire D corp looks better given the increased roster depth. Having Jones there to become the top QB slots everyone into their proper role. But Emberson is just proving to be steady.

Overall Robertson didn’t have a bad game, mostly good, but had one misread that led to a brief momentum shift in the 2nd.

Again the depth on D is solid as both Welinski and Skinner were scratches. Hillman has been decent. Made a heck of a pass that became the 2nd assist on the tying goal.

Wolfpack quietly just became an enjoyable team to watch.

See where he is come next training camp. I think he'd have a legit (not guaranteed) shot at making the Rangers out of camp. He was a very late cut this year if I remember right. If he goes to Hartford next year but continues to progress though I'd definitely want to see him up with us next year at some point.

There is also C. J. Smith who has been out for a while. I don't know if he'd been playing with an injury but before coming out of the lineup he was struggling mightily. Still Smith has a legit AHL resume and was pretty much a point per game AHL player in 21-22.

I'd also point to Garand is starting to win games and that Dominque is actually not a bad goalie. He can hang in the NHL but at the AHL level he's a legit starter.

Think both Rempe and Henriksson have performed better than expected. Rempe is projectable at 15 and 20 points and well over 100 pm's by seasons end. That's a very good start for a first year pro 6th round draft pick. He's huge, mean, nasty, fights.

Could Othmann, Berard, Sykora & BMB all potentially join HFD next year?

othmann for sure. Berard if he signs. Probably too early for Sykora. He was 17 when the Rangers drafted him last summer and he‘s on the small side. Another year to get stronger I think would be helpful for him. BMB wouldn’t be eligible.

Grubbe (unsigned as of now) having a very good year. Edstrom I would expect too.

Interesting thanks for the clarification. Im not a Wolfpack guy, but I think theres significant value in having the next wave of prospects have some legit time in the AHL, especially on a good team.

There arent many spots opening up in the lineup this year or next due to our youth and the cap situation. Having our Hartford eligible prospects grow together will help all of them get ready for the NHL. Let them fill out and learn to be pros and afford them the opportunity to grow at their pace that we didnt or couldnt for Laf/Kakko/Chytil

If Brodz/Triv/KarlH, who were productive yesterday, form 1 steady scoring line, Pack should be able to build some good balanced lines going forward.

The thing with Trivigno. At least at the AHL level, he has pretty darn good vision. He makes some nifty passes that make him more dangerous than the average AHL forward. The passing is starting to show up more and more. And I am seeing more skilled moves that are working coming from Cuylle. His game seems to be improving. I am starting to see a player who could outgrow the AHL one day. I don't know when that day is. It's not tomorrow. But the growth from the beginning of the season is more obvious to me in the last 5 or 6 games.

I'm just looking to forward to this spring,
as guys trickle in as their seasons end:
Edstrom, Berard, Korczak, BMB, Othmann, Barbashev, Grubbe, Kjellberg, Boyko, Sykora if eligible/available, maybe Ciccolini or Hughes, too.
If Pack can stay in the race, these reinforcements will help them weather wear-and-tear down the stretch, and the kids will play in meaningful pro games vs pro men, and contribute in their ways.

They won't be able to take on all of those guys, though I agree with your general thinking.

Grubbe and Korczak, it will likely be dependent on how deep of a run their respective teams make. Grubbe's team in particular should make a real run. BMB will be available as soon as the regular season ends, since Soo is terrible. Probably the same for Boyko though I don't know if there's room for him other than to practice with the team.

Ciccolini and Hughes are both 3rd/4th line players on their teams and have seen their already modest production actually decrease over the years. Hard to believe they're on the radar at this point. I'm not sure either is even ECHL-caliber right now. Kjellberg is interesting because his defense was always "meh," and now his offense has disappeared and he's toiling on the third pair of a really mediocre Northern Michigan team. I have no idea what to think about him at the moment, beyond "I never liked him." LOL.

Yes but I don't think that the Rangers would guarantee any of these guys an AHL position because of Garand. So the other clubs may have presented a better starting opportunity in the AHL. Bussi has played 18 games, Garant 17 and Guzda 16. Stevenson is in the ECHL but played 3 games in Hershey and Hershey has two 27 year old goalies so Stevenson is really the top professional prospect.

As it seems now, longshots Kjellberg, Ciccolini may be among soonest available. AHL PTOs, to evaluate them up close, have little downside.

Hartford would actually be a good team if they could get their power play going. Absolute rock bottom in the AHL.

Does the CHL have a trade deadline for their playoffs?
If so, does anyone know what this year’s date is?
