Hunter Skinner had 7 points in his first 11 games in the ECHL, and now has 1 point in his last 11 games. I wonder if he's annoyed he's still down there.
I hope not
So much talk at HFB of guys having impatient atitudes.
Welinski was scratched yesterday, wondered if they needed Skinner as RHD, but W was back in tonight for Pack.
Emberson seemingly been decent, Giutarri has earned staff trust, ok (IMHO) for Skinner to be getting his regular pro icetime w Jax

Pack close it out, 3-2, sweep road B2B

Also Jax up 6-3 in 3rd, Lindbom in net, Skinner+2 in lineup
Pack signees Jordan, Lohin, EBrodz leading the O
A few notes from the game.

That's the first time Hartford was won two games in Charlotte......ever!

Zac Jones did not play most of the game. Look out for injury news on him.

Goal 1: As Charlotte is pressing Pajuniemi gets the puck to Fritz on a breakaway.

Goal 2. Tardif rims the puck around the boards. DiGiacinto gets it and beats the defenseman off the wall. He passes to Rempe down low. The puck bounce off of Rempe's skate to Tardif in front for the tap in.

Goal 3. Carpenter has a semi breakaway and gets off a backhand shot that is stopped but Pajuniemi puts in the rebound.

Shots 33-25 for Hartford, not as overwhelming as yesterday but still another positive. Trivigno and Pajuniemi each had five shots on goal.

In period 1 Reuschhoff hit the post and Trivigno had two great opportunities that just didn't go in.

The fourth line of Rempe, Tardif and DiGiacinto has three goals in two games.

Hartford now has tied Bridgeport for 7th, is one point out of 6th, 2 points out of 5th, 5 points out of 3rd-4th.

Team is playing better with the kids getting more ice time.

Saw bits of the game.

- Bobby T was very noticeable and active.
- parts of the game I saw, Robertson seemed a little more stay at home. He’s quite good at rubbing out opponents along the walls when he simplifies. Still jumped up in the play once or twice. But maybe, just maybe, he’s getting his game simpler.
- I’d like to see Cuylle be more active and play with a higher motor. I thought he looked fine to good tonight but I’d like him to just be more active. I think he plays at AHL pace right now. Would like him to play at a pace that’s a notch or two where it is now. But he doesn’t look bad or anything close to it.

Nice to see them make up some ground.

Any chance travigno can get a look this year?

I’m not an expert on these prospects but I’d be surprised. Small F that’s not tearing it up at the AHL level . It could take time though

Garand’s stats are also meh but again a G needs reps.

Cuylee is my only lock to get a look next year

Bobby T. is having a good rookie season. He's fourth on the team in scoring with all of the his points coming on 5x5 play. In the games I've seen he's constantly played 3rd or even 4th line minutes and he's been a healthy scratch for 4 games. Among forwards he has more shots on goal than everyone else except Cuylle and Pajuniemi, both of whom are seeing PP time as well as playing on the top two lines. As gravey9 said a few posts ago in the game he saw, Trivigno was active and noticeable. I would like to see him replace Elson on the first line, not that I have a big complaint with Elson but he isn't going to be an NHL player.

Whether he is called up will depend on Ranger injuries but if he isn't called up I don't see that as a bad sign. He is showing some NHL potential and the numbers don't tell the full story.

Is Henriksson playing well? I know his numbers have been pretty brutal at every level and he's a tiny manlet but I have a soft spot after watching him have a good game in one of those preseason scrimmage things with the Flyers prospects

My impressions of the kids in Hartford:

I look at Cuylle as a rookie even if he spent the shortened 20-21 season with the Pack. Leads the team in goals and shots on goal. Good at protecting the puck in the offensive zone. Probably needs some work on his all around game but he's the closest of the kids at forward to making the NHL and I could see him getting a few games this year if an injury were to happen....but even if not he has a real shot at the Rangers next year though there are no guarantees on that.

I like Trivigno but if he's being scratched or thrown on the 3rd/4th lines a lot it tells me he's not likely to be called up this year.

Pajuniemi has a great shot for scoring but I'm kind of looking at him in terms of a long shot at this point. He's a guy who more than less relies on his offense and so far there is just not enough.

Henriksson has done better than I expected in his first year here. Not that there is a lot of offense but I've heard that he's liked because he's got a very good and reliable game away from the puck. If he can build his offense a bit he's got a chance....maybe in a Jesper Fast kind of way.

Rempe is another guy who has surprised me. I actually thought he was a likely candidate for Jacksonville. 4 goals 7 points and 6 fights. That's not bad at all. He's huge and he will agitate which isn't something that guys who fight a lot always do.

Robertson has been discussed enough. The simpler he keeps his game right now the better he does.

Jones has the most skills but his size can be a handicap on the defensive side of the puck. There is no path for him in the top 2 pairings and I think the Rangers are looking for more size and defensive presence from their bottom pairing D. I see him as potential trade bait.

Emberson seems to be doing fine. His main problem really is similar to Nils problem. He's an RD and with Fox, Trouba and Schneider ahead of him his only real shot is if one of them gets hurt.

Scanlin was one of the more sought after UDFA's coming out of college last year. He seems to be doing pretty well too. Excellent size.

Garand has had an up and down year in Hartford. It looks to me like he's probably going to need at least another year of AHL after this.

Rydahl is 28. I don't look at him as a kid. Rueschoff is 25--I don't see him as a kid anymore either.

I can’t speak to his season, but he was just okay at the game in Charlotte I went to Wednesday night. He looks like a little boy on the ice though.

It’s been said by 2k2 countless times, but his mediocre skating to go along with his diminutive stature is detrimental and will keep him from becoming an NHL player.

Thank u for the update
After writing this post I went back to the AHL stats and did a quick review of rookie scoring during 5x5 play. If my review is correct, Trivigno is 40th in overall rookie scoring but tied for 12th in 5x5 scoring. And he has played only 30 games, less than almost all of the guys ahead of him. His 5x5 scoring is slightly better than several first and second round picks: Thomas Bordelau, 2020-#38, Fabian Lysell, 2021-#21, Hendrix Laperierre, 2020-#22, Will Cuylle, 2020-#60, Xavier Bourgault, 2021-#20, Jiri Kulich, 2022-#28, Maverick Bourque, 2020-#30, Brendan Brisson, 202-#29, Izak Rosen, 2021-#14, Noel Gunler, 2020-#41, Auto Raty 2022-#52, Jack Finley, 2020-#57, John Beecher-2019-#30. I'm not saying that Trivigno is better than these guys but given his opportunities in Hartford he is producing at a level that puts him in the top of the class of AHL rookies.

Don't write off Bobby T!

BTW Brandon Scanlin is 14th in AHL rookie defensemen scoring.

Thanks for your report from the game. Let us know if you have any other thoughts. I saw some of the game on TV but the angles are limited and you would have had a better view than any of us who watched the game.

I think it's unlikely that Henriksson makes it to the NHL but I wouldn't completely rule it out. Until the recent rash of injuries he had been playing only fourth line minutes. Lately being moved up to the 3rd line, often with Trivigno, his scoring is up and he is making more plays. Whenever I have watched he usually is making a couple of nice plays. He also is now being given regular PK time. His shooting % is only 5.6% which means he may not be a good shooter or he has been unlucky.

On his skating, he is not the fastest straight ahead skater but he is very quick and can work well in small spaces.

He's got some ability but it probably is not enough for the NHL. Let's see if the production increases in the second half of the season.

Pack win 3-1 over Providence.
Goals by Jones, Rempe and an empty netter by Cuylle.
Dylan Garand in Net.
Watched this. Observations from Ranger Ric, Eco's Bones and NYR2K2 continue to be spot on. A few specifics from today's game.

1. Overall, the whole team looked quite good. Outclassed the P-Bruins most of the game. As a result, everyone looked good pretty much.

2. Really liked Cuylle's game in this one. Very effective and rarely makes the wrong decision. He seemed, in this one, to be a bit more effective than in previous games. And got better as game went on. Deserved the empty netter as he probably deserved to get one earlier in the game. Shoutout to Rydahl who broke his stick blocking a pass that led to Cuylle's empty netter. I believe I'm seeing some progression from the beginning of the year. Hopefully he keeps getting better and forces his way up at some point. The thing with Cuylle is, he's got better hands and is a better passer than most 4th line plugs. The question will be if he has the motor/wheels to apply his skills at the next level. But he plays a sturdy game. If he keeps developing, I think he could become a homegrown Goodrow.

3. Garand was decent in this one. He's got potential. But I think it's going to take some legit time. I don't think he should be anywhere else next year but back in HFD.

4. Robertson is playing a simpler game out there. I think he's making less egregious mistakes. He's pinching less. He still is getting some offensive looks. Had some glorious chances in this game but his game is not really going to be terribly offensive at the next level. He made some very good outlet passes today and for me, that's the 2nd most important part of his game to solidify. But I think he's playing a bit more within himself and it's looking better. His game hasn't changed a ton, but I do think he's become a bit more mindful not to force it when pinching and joining the rush.

5. Scanlin. He's def in that Girardi mold. I worry about his wheels/skating at the next level but his strength is he really knows his game. He doesn't go overboard with trying to make himself noticeable offensively,. And yet this game was a great example of how he still ended up on the scoresheet. He made a nice little play to help the team enter the zone on Rempe's goal and ended up with the secondary assist (at least he should have gotten even if he wasn't credited).

6. Rempe got on the scoresheet again. I mean, I like his game. He is effective at this level. But I still see a long term project only because the skating is rough and I wonder about his balance at the nexxt level. But does NOT have stone hands, at least at this level.

7. Bobby T. He got less ice time as the game went on because of penalties. (he's not on PP). But I think he continues to make plays and is maybe the most courageous, aggressive of the all the forwards. Guy isn't afraid to get to the middle. And is pretty good for a small guy on the boards. And I'd argue he's one of the best skaters upfront for Hartford. I'd like to see him get more ice time. I think he does earn it. Jury is still out on whether he's another Greco or Fritz or if he's got NHL upside. He needs a bigger role at some point to get a better read on his potential. I understand there's a pecking order, but I'd like to see it. Regardless, I'm now a huge fan of his.

8. I have nothing against Andy Welinski or Zach Guttiari. And I get why they've got fairly big roles with the team but I would prefer to see what we have in Hunter Skinner at some point. I'm just not sure the org feels the same way.

Ok, that's way too many words for not that much of an update. But the bigger point is perhaps that the Wolf Pack are looking much better.

Pack are out of the division basement. They're 10th on points in the conference. Really not far from the fifth place team. Honestly if this team did better in OT/SO they'd be a few places higher on that alone.

Question about Cuylle does he take faceoffs or play center? Reason I ask is that Cuylle has taken faceoffs in juniors. Could be a good option down the road
