2-2 after 2. Pack get a really bad break when a routine shot into the zone around the rim hits something and goes right in front of the net with Domingue behind the net to stop the puck that the Bruins tap in. Henriksson passes to Jones who hits the post.

Pretty even game. Providence leads on shots 17-15. Pack fail on a couple of PPs.

I'm not a huge fan of Blais but this is pretty misleading as two of the games were blow out losses.

He's been putting up almost a ppg over a month now. Gonna be honest and haven't seen his overall game but this kid couldn't make an impact at the NHL level? has his defense been that bad or do the Rangers just want to develop him in Hartford?
I figure his next shot will be training camp next fall if he isn’t traded.

I'm planning on heading up to the game on Saturday and was wondering if anyone knows the best way to get autographs from the players either before or after the game.

I there still a Veteran Rule in the AHL?
Even if we get the one veteran exempt we must be right up against it, no?

This is apparently what it is currently:

In the AHL, player development is a top priority. The American Hockey League and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association have the following development rule in place:

Of the eighteen (18) skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at least thirteen (13) must be qualified as “development players.” Of those 13, twelve (12) must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games. All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season.

Sad. They played well enough to win. Pajuniemi could’t finish on multiple chances. Welinski was his usual bad. Blais still hasn’t gotten over being traded from St. Louis. Sammy has no interest in back-checking.
Scanlin froze on the 2-1 against but he is a rookie so that happens.
Henriksson, Cuylle, Rempe, Jones and Gettinger played well.
The Wolf Pack draw a lot of PPs with their play but have horrible PP units.
I still believe in this team.

Under those guidelines we must be close? When I’m bored and looking for something to do, I’ll count those 7 players pro games and post back, though I’m confident that the team and league monitor this and there’s no issue.

I gathered leagure GP totals from EliteProspects
so if i understand it right, only 6 of the 7
(6 of 8 if Smith becomes available)
vets can dress for any game,
(Welinski or Blais as the 260-320 'tweener')
perhaps why Welinski had some scratches lately
Unsure if Blais as a conditioning loan may be an exception

Carpenter [AHL/NHL] 557
Elson[AHL/NHL] 515
Rydahl [AHL/SHL] 404
Brodzinski [AHL/NHL] 372
Fritz [AHL/NHL] 340
Blais [AHL/NHL] 318
Welinski [AHL/NHL] 312
CJ Smith 280

Gettinger 224

I think CJ Smith also counts as under 260. It says in that last line that the totals are based on the numbers at the beginning of the season, and it looks like Smith may have only played 259 regular season games between the NHL and AHL prior to this season.

Right! thanks
before starting i made a mental note,
to back out this year's GP
(like the amulet flip-side which wasn't burned into the Nazi's hand in "Raiders of the Lost Ark")
but which i then promptly forgot

ALSO Fritz also under 320 based on pre-'22-23

so Smith not a concern,
and Fritz could be the 'tweener' if Pack add another >320 GP guy

Maybe he's a little banged up. Good enough to go in games that matter (Hartford being on the fringe and all) but enough of a thing that they don't want him playing exhibitions?

Thank you for doing the work.
The numbers were capped at the beginning of the season as @nyr2k2 had posted and this is how the team was in compliance.

In High Altitoad
he was sent down cause of the break and to save cap space....the logical conclusion is that he will be back with the rangers on monday

I wasn't expecting to see him come back. I figured his recall was really about getting a body into the lineup until Blais completed his conditioning stint (which is coming up soon.)

Too small for a bottom 6 defender in GG book I guess. I'm sure a few NHL coaches think that way.

Rodolfo, you nailed this on the head.

Couple of posts, bad break on the 2nd goal that took a crazy bounce off the boards and doesn't rim around the back of the net. Gave up PP goal in the third to break the tie.

Pajuniemi stopped on break away on great pass from Henriksson and then hits the post on a 2-1. I like Pajuniemi but the production isn't where it needs to be.

Scanlin put in tough position when Welinski inappropriately steps up but you are correct in that Scanlin should have stopped the pass instead of staying no mans land. I like Scanlin a lot but think his play is starting to tail off. Maybe he's hit the rookie wall.

Even with Jones PP is last in the league in PP%. Only 22 goals and gave up 5 short handed. And they keep putting the same players out. Bobby Trivigno, one of their most creative players, gets no power play time. And last night he is scratched even though he is one of the best players 5X5. PK is middling giving up 30 goals and collecting 3 shorthanded. That makes the team -10 on special teams. Hard to win with that record.

How they've handled Trovigno is an abomination. Not that he's a cant miss prospect but he should be getting prime time usage

Yeah, I for once don't have too many complaints about how they've used guys this year, but I will say that Trivigno needs a bigger and more consistent role. I think he's their best offensive forward.

Pack beating Utica 2-1 through 1. Paju from Brodz and Gets. Giutarri from Gets and Brodz.

Edit: Blais ties it at 3 in the 3rd (not on the PP) from Carpenter and Skinner. Skinner's 1st assist of the season.

I don’t see a reason not to waive Blais when his conditioning stint ends.

If someone claims him, the Rangers get the money for the deadline. If no one does, he can continue to play 20 minutes a night, and maybe he works his way back into the lineup later in the year for the Rangers.

I won’t really get them just bringing him back to NYC next week just to sit in the press box.
