Blais scores again late in the 3rd to give Harford the 4-3 win.
Sammy Blais scores 2 goals in the 3rd to give the Pack a 4-3 win.

Pajuniemi knocks in a rebound of a Brodzinski shot to get the Pack off to a good start. After Utica ties it on a shot from the point on which Garand is screened, Gettinger makes a great cross ice pass to an open Zack Giutarri. That might have been the best pass I've seen Gettinger make.

With the Pack down 3-2 going into the final period, Hunter Skinner makes a terrific pinch to keep the puck in the zone and he goes around the net passing to Brodzinski with Blais putting in the rebound of the Brodzinski shot. With less than 3 minutes to go Blais picks up the puck in the slot, fakes out a defenseman and nets a back hander. An impressive play by Blais.

Wilenski and Hillman are defensive scratches and Whelan, Reuschhoff, Rempe and Di Giacinto the forward scratches. Trivigno back in but on the 4th line with Henriksson and Tardif.

Hartford now with 45 points, tied with Wilkes Barre and Bridgeport, 2 points behind Springfield an Lehigh Valley. 7 points behind 3rd place Charlotte.

A nice come back after a really bad outing in the last game.

Hartford storming right out of the gate.
2-0 could easily be 5-0.
Playing Wilkes Barre Scranton in Hartford.
Gettinger and Emberson with goals.

Rempes offense for a 4th liner at the AHL level has been kinda good right? looking at his pedigree i’d have been surprised had he scored one goal all year

In my 2 to 3 year hopeful Ranger future, lies a 4th line comprised of three Centre’s. Rempe, Edstrom and Grubbe. A line that can successfully dump and chase. A line that excels at puck possession, a line that bangs and hits and a line that opposing teams fear.

How has Garand looked so far? I know Wall is pretty much done as a prospect. Lindbum is likely on his way out.
Wall is out of the organization. We let him walk. Lindbum has been bad even in Jacksonville.

Garand has been up and down, but he's young, it's not easy for a goaltender his age in the AHL. Recently he had posted a couple of really good results but then had a 5 goals on 13 shots performance soon after. Not all on him, but that's kind of been the pattern: steps forward, steps back. All in all I think he's progressing and there's still a lot of reason to feel optimistic about him long term.

On Rempe, his play in general has been way better than I expected. Which isn't to say he has been great, I just expected him to be in the ECHL. His play has been... pretty decent, in his role? I'd caution on his goals, as he's shooting over 18% and takes less that a shot per game, so there's likely some regression due there. To his credit though he is always willing to play in the dirty areas and go to the net, so you'll definitely pick up cheap goals doing that.

I think ultimately if he makes it in the NHL it's if the Rangers truly value his physical aggression or not. If they do, they can find a space for him. If they decide they're done with that, I don't know that he really brings enough to the table otherwise to actually make it to the NHL in anything other than a "guy we bring up for those games" capacity.

Wall is out of the system.
Garand had a couple bad blowouts recently, but also a number of good games, and is very young

Boyko will be with Pack next season, already signed; at Prospects thread we see he had a 50+ shot shutout last night
Ollas has had some strong games in NCAA but expect him to stay next as a Junior, and even as senior too

Lindbom has mostly been with Jax.
Has had just a half game w Pack relieving one of Garand's stinkers.
W Jax he's appeared in 17 of 42, they have 3 goalies, 12-5-0 w 2.90 GAA but only 0.876 Save%
Its rare for NYR to release a drafted player during their ELC, but I could see him as part of a trade bundle.

Lohin recalled,
Pack scratching a slew of forwards lately,
Khodo is done for season, Smith still week to week
last night scratched Cuylle, Rueschhoff, Whelan, as well,
and Blais was recalled to NYR

Cuylle could be recalled tomorrow, but
(a) if healthy, why scratch on Saturday ...
(b) if recalled, NYR roster back at max 23 ...

Rempe's around the net. HIs goals are kind of what are called garbage. That I think is why his shot% is high though. He's shooting from 5-10 feet out---stuff ins and rebounds. He's got the size if he's willing to go to the front of the net that he's really hard to move out. Big, mean and nasty can do well net front. In Rangers history that's Vic Hadfield, Adam Graves. Not to say that I think Rempe is anywhere close to those two--though it took years for Hadfield to figure it out.

There's a difference between him and say Pajuniemi who shoots a lot more from farther out.

Rempe’s exceeded expectations across the boards. I though he’d be in the ECHL as well. Instead he’s putting up points and pummeling the opposition.

I thought he was a tall agitator not one of the top heavyweights in the league at age 20. Even sporadic NHL games is a home run outcome for a 6th rounder than no one gave much of a chance.

I went to my first Wolfpack game this weekend. Was a great experience. Stadium is really built for hockey. The sightlines are perfect, and the game appears to be moving at an incredibly fast pace.

Rempe was an interesting one. Slow footspeed, but an absolutely massive body which he seems to be learning to use. Fingers crossed.

Was hoping to see Garand in net, but ended up seeing Domingue. My wife loves him so worked out OK and he almost got in a fight. Guy likes to play the puck a lot and I wonder if that was in the Rangers' mind when they signed him.

What's the deal with Rydahl? I had some hopes for him but he's been passed over time and again. Is he just not putting it together in NA? Have to imagine he'll head back to Europe after the season's over.

Next season, I wonder.

It's possible but I think improbable.

If we look back at another big guy in Brian Boyle, who for all intents and purposes was a good skater for a guy who was 6'7 even back to his college days, he took until really 24/25 years old to be an everyday NHLer. Now, Rempe has a unique quality in comparison because his style and role aren't changing as much as Boyle's had to.

But in saying that, Rempe is 20. Barring a HUGE off-season which sees him take a significant jump in strength and skating, which is unlikely, the hope I think should be that when he turns 22, after another full successful season next year where he starts to move up in the lineup and sees better offensive production (say closer to ~.4-.5ppg), then perhaps he enters the discussion.

So in summary, I think the 'hope' should be another year in the AHL and then he enters the conversation a bit.
