hartford lehigh valley is on nhl net right now. rydahl just scored a garbage goal in front to put the good guys up 1-0.
Watching as well.

- Matthew Robertson looks really good. Really popped off the screen for me. Zac Jones is an nhler as well imo.

- Funny seeing artem anisimov out there

- I cant see rempe ever making the nhl, not agile enough.

- Rydahl got a goal but overall really bad stick

- Brodzinski and carpenter are both better than jake and should be on the nhl roster over him

- Cuylle hasnt been too noticeable early on

i havent been really focusing on the game. cuylle had a nice one on 3 or 4 while penalty killing. almost beat the last phantom and took it to the net.

I believe that Karl Hendriksson and Matt Rempe sneak into the Black Aces this playoff season.
Hendriksson has been on the Number 1 PK all year and lately his game is strengthening. Rempe might be there, just because. Insurance against smucks.
Domingue, Jones , Hajek, Gettinger, Brodzinski, Rydahl and Cuylle are all safe bets to make the squad.
I agree with Ranger Ric. I’m not seeing what Knoblaugh is seeing because Trivigno should not be a healthy scratch going down the stretch. Bobby Trivigno drives play. Seems a skill a team would want.
Once last note on Hajek. He has developing grit at the beginning of last season and this season as well. Seems like he’s been looking for a dance partner since being sent down but no takers yet. Sadly his NHL play has been bad.
Hopefully he turns it around with the remaining games left this season.

Rempe seems like a guy that will get some games in the NHL as a goon as there is still occasionally a desire for that. I don't think he has the skating or overall ability to take anything close to a regular shift in the NHL.

Henriksson is sneaky and creative but the overall package just isn't there for me. If he had better top-end speed or was bigger and stronger on the puck I could see him being a potentially useful bottom six player but I'm not sure he will be able to keep up in the NHL.

The speed of the game is the biggest thing separating good AHL players from being good NHL players in many cases. I don't know if either of those two have it. I'm of course rooting for both, I just don't know if they can do it.

I think one thing to consider with Rempe is that he is still SO young.

He is 20 until June. At 20 Brian Boyle was a sophomore at BC. He then played 2 more seasons at BC and then a year and a half in the AHL, followed by a poor season at age 25 in NY.

I think he is a guy who needs to marinate for another 2 years at a minimum in the AHL.

i agree with most of this, but will be shocked if Rempe is a recalled playoff extra, and thoroughly stunned if he gets into game.
Good for him, good for NYR, that his rookie season has perhaps exceeded expectations.
But he is limited upside long-shot, and a young 1st year pro.
And obviously, if NYR decide to insert young 4th-line muscle, Cuylle securely ahead of Rempe

I don't disagree that he has plenty of development opportunity ahead of him. However, Boyle was a first round pick for a reason and that was because in addition to his size he had legitimate skill. Rempe has size and snarl and that's really it. I remember Boyle in the pre-Barb Underhill days and he still would have been able to skate circles around Rempe.

I appreciate what Rempe does and applaud him for his performance this season but if he's going to be able to take a regular shift on an NHL fourth line his skating will need to improve dramatically. His hands aren't terrible but he doesn't really have any offensive instincts and while he's a willing back checker he's, again, limited by his foot speed.

20 or 30 years ago there'd be a real place for a guy like him. It was actually only 12 years ago that we drafted Randy McNaught. Today, there's still room for big guys like Rempe who bring the pain, but increasingly they need to be able to bring more than that. And he has a long, long way to go IMO before he's there.

I don’t believe Rempe is NHL ready yet. I believe he is insurance in the vain of a spent Chris Neil when he was put in a game to stop the Rangers from running roughshod over the Senators during one playoff run.

Garand playing well in just his fourth start of the month.

This will be another big win for the Pack. Puts them right on the cusp of a playoff spot, although there's a long way to go. Also pulls them within 3 points of Springfield, although the TBirds do have a game in hand.

And Pajuniemi with the ENG to finish his hatty and kill the game.

I with you on this being a big win . All the players that scored are prospects and another prospect, Garand played very well in goal.
Lauri Pajuniemi showed a lot of character on the first of his three goals. He was hit along the boards while carrying the puck into the Springfield zone and kept his legs moving to put himself into position to score the goal.
