Im still a bit confused that some posters dont think Allen and Lamar are neck and neck as far as caliber of players. Lamar doesnt have Allen's peak performances, but I do think he's a bit more consistent and doesnt have Allen's lows (like the HOU game), though Allen has improved leaps and bounds this year with consistency. Honestly, unless Allen goes off these next two games- I think Lamar wins another MVP. And in a league where narratives are made on hardware, it's going to be tough for me to justify Allen>Lamar. I just wish Lamar was in the NFC. He's so fun to watch. And, Im thrilled to have a QB that's consistently in the MVP conversation.

*I say all this knowing the Henry has had a big impact on Lamar this season*

They couldn’t be more different of players in the playoffs, and the sample size is pretty large.

Also, I think Allen relies much less on a system and his running ability.

I dunno maybe it's the hangover from watching the two games today, but I have a hard time seeing us beating either Baltimore or Kansas City in the playoffs with how they've found the missing pieces of their game recently. I'm just not sure the talent is there on defense. We knew it was a little bit of a reset coming in, and I'm thrilled with 14-3/13-4 - I think they significantly overachieved this season on both sides of the ball. Maybe they can get Baltimore at home if Jackson's non-elite playoff play (and Baltimore's baffling playoff playcalling) continues, but I dunno.

Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

I think our offense will step up to a whole different level in the playoffs. Our defense will be bad but if they control the clock and score on every drive the other team will have to match that. Sounds unrealistic but if we want a sb Allen and company will have to play like true legends.

I think it's Baltimore's year, unfortunately. Better than the Chiefs, at least!

Baltimore - Philly (assuming Hurts brain is ok) is my prediction!

Baltimore is interesting in that they seem the take a step back in the playoffs. Much like the Bills.

I won't be shocked if the Ravens lay an egg in the playoffs.

Yep, if those results happen, I totally see McDermott playing starters for a half and then resting them, and maybe even doing the same thing next week too. It's what he did in 2020 for the last game against Miami (and the 2 seed wasn't even guaranteed going into that game, though homefield advantage was off the table).

If the seed isn't locked in I don't see him resting starters against the Jets. If it's still in doubt next week we could see a similar "we don't really care about the seed" resting of players, but not two weeks out.
With the Ravens winning yesterday, I fully expect the Bills to play Sunday like a must win game. And McD can dangle the carrot for the starters that they will get an easy week for the Pats game if they take care of business against the Jets.

I don’t think the bills taken a step back in the playoffs. Allen is statistically at his best in the playoffs even. They have simply lost to KC three of the last four years, with two of those coming down to the last possession.

They laid one egg against the bengals, but I think a lot things were going on there

Looking at PFFs top 50 free agents.

Haason Reddick, edge. Beane and McDermott would need to check out why didn't report to the Jets, but if that checks out, he'd be a good add. Would fill the RE pass rush need.

Malcolm Koonce, edge. Another edge option but coming off an injury.

Baron Browning, edge. Young, injured a bit, but productive.

Dayo Odeyingbo, edge. Young, and a bigger end.

Chase Young, edge. He's still young. Does Beane take a swing?

Charvarius Ward, CB. I don't think Beane will spend for DJ Reed, but Ward is supposedly on a down year. Could be a nice buy low option if Douglas doesn't re-sign.

Carlton Davis, CB. Might be too costly but another CB option.

Byron Murphy, CB. Playing well in Minnesota. Young.

Javon Holland, S. Down season but the best safety in the class, if Beane wants an upgrade. Young and would cost a lot. I can't tell if he's an RFA.

Talanoa Hufanga, S. Another 49er coming off an injured season. Buy low? Still young.

Camryn Bynum, S. Young and productive.

Justin Reed, S. Would help the Bills and take something away from the Chiefs.

Osa Odighizuwa, DT. Pass rushing DT if Beane is looking to add.

Levi Onwuzurike, DT. Another young pass rushing DT.

Milton Williams, DT. Another young pass rushing DT.

Hollywood Brown, WR. Still young and has great speed. Not an ideal outside receiver with his size but could replace Cooper. Worth watching the rest of the season.

Darius Slayton, WR. Speed as an outside receiver.
