From my view, Scanlin is ready. Left-handed shot who plays both sides. Has size, strength and an accurate shot.
Signed for two more years.
I wonder why he hasn't gotten a look yet. They rather give ice time to minor league veterans. I believe like Robertson, Scanlin has to go through waivers next season

Don’t believe Robertson or Jones will be in the organization next season. Baring a trade Scanlin could get a shot next season.
I just saw a replay of the Scanlin goal and it looks like he is wearing an A tonight.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Jones is not with team next year but if Gustafsson does not come back Jones could be replacement.

If Robertson not traded he could be resigned and probably sent to Hartford.

But you are correct that both could be gone.

Three stars tonight:

Dylan Garand

If only people saw Berard the last month or so and what a progression in his development he's made not one person would be including him in any trades especially for a rental. This is exactly the type of player a coach and FANS will love.

This is not a call for the move of either but objectively I think it’s more likely that younger and significantly higher drafted Sykora would be more sought after in a trade.

So far Berard’s progression is very similar to Cuylle’s from last season (without this small taste of the NHL he got in January 2023). Makes me think Berard could get his varsity spot locked from the start of next season. Drury’s leaked nothing and all insiders calling for two forwards but I’m hoping that he’s able to get a cheap upgrade for 3C and goes big to improve D beyond this season. That would leave a possibility of Berard getting a well earned look on a wing even sooner.

With the deadline looming, I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see Martin and Drury make a bunch of depth trades to get guys for the playoff push in HFD. They made similar moves last year dealing Rydahl for Blidh and future considerations for Kalynuk. HFD needs the bodies, so I’d expect a deal for a C and D to help them until Nash gets back. I’d guess a deadline deal for the Rangers sends Belzille back down, which will be a nice boost for their top-6

I am here once again begging Berard to get a chance before it's too late (as in, the TDL). I think he's an NHL player right now and has a skillset we desperately need.

What’s it going to take for Berard to get a look?
2 or 3 injuries. I can't fathom why he hasn't gotten a chance when a worse player at that level in Othmann got 2.

Othmann got called up twice but didn't play the 2nd time and was sent back down the next day.

Othmann has been playing games at RW, so that could factor into it as well, or maybe they simply wanted someone with more size.

I don't think Berard (or Sykora) will be traded, but anything is possible. If we were to trade for Sharangovich, for example, then I would expect one of those 2 to go the other way. I think it's much more likely, however, that we'll fill the RW spot with a cheaper player. We may also bring in a center, but again, I don't think we are going to add a player who will cost a significant amount to acquire. Maybe we end up trading our 1st, but I think we hold onto our prospects.

1-1 after 1. Henriksson goal, Brouillard assist.
Garand in net.
Othmann missed on an unimpeded breakaway.
Berard playing well as always.
Not bold enough to state that Berard is NHL ready now, but if I were to give him a look I believe tomorrow night’s game against Florida would be a good test.
Perfect opponent to see if he can play in a heavy game.

Byron Yoon with a goal on a blast from just inside the blue line. 1st AHL goal.
Assists, Hillis and Trivigno.
Berard with another explosive goal.
Yoon has played well since being brought in from the ECHL.
My next Rangers Jersey no doubt is gonna be Berard. Too bad he can't wear the number 9 (Great number) cause it was worn by one of the hardest working player in franchise history.

Garand with two starts in a row. Combine that with the Quick extension is Garand in play?
No. What team is giving us enough to make it worth trading him? No team is going to play him in the NHL in an effort to make the playoffs/win in the playoffs. If there's a team that's out of it and looking for a long-term goalie, maybe we consider it if the return is good enough, but there's no reason to do something like that until the off-season.

Quick was re-signed because he has been good for us and because Garand ISN'T ready yet for the NHL. As far as Garand getting 2 in a row, there was a day off in-between, and we are trying to develop him into an NHL goalie. I don't think we need to read any more into it. Goalies at the AHL level don't have a ton of value.

please no. Two untouchables on this team should be Berard and Garand.
