4 points in 18 games and skates in molasses. I love Artie but you can find that kind of contribution from some ECHL guy. They should be able to upgrade on him pretty easily.
I’m musing here but besides the points it’s quite likely that Artem wasn’t setting up an example for the kids there expected out of NHL vet at this level. He’s gotten old, earned many millions to not worry about making another buck and he just couldn’t muster energy to go through games and probably more importantly practices. Can’t fault him for that but also can’t fault the organization for wanting to go the “other way”.

If that's the case, then why is he accepting a PTO to play in the AHL? Even if he doesn't want to play in the KHL, he can likely find a job in Sweden or Finland. If he wants to keep playing hockey and absolutely wants to stay in the US, then I would be expecting him to give it his all. There's no reason for him to ride buses in the AHL for minimal pay and then just dog it.

I think the more likely thing is that he just can't keep up anymore, which is a shame, but it happens. Maybe he should consider coaching if he wants to stay around the game.

Its actually supports my point to a certain degree. Going to Sweden or KHL requires a level of commitment that Anisimov just can’t provide at this point. His whole life’s been around hockey so mentally wanting to continue it in some playing capacity is understandable while his physical state and actual ability to commit is not there anymore. Again I’m simply musing and it’s somewhat based on my own state subjectively while crossing over the 50 yo barrier.

If only people saw Berard the last month or so and what a progression in his development he's made not one person would be including him in any trades especially for a rental. This is exactly the type of player a coach and FANS will love.

You're right about that. I want him to get a call up so we can see what he can do at this level.

The left side is pretty crowded. He has play the off-wing.
He drives play so I don’t see a fit with the Rangers unless Panarin needs rest.
Don’t believe it will do him harm to finish the season and playoffs with Hartford.
I think his elusiveness and play on the wall could help the Zib line.
