Goodrow.

There’s plenty of restructuring with the 4 lines that they could do if they’d just scratch Goodrow.

But to answer your question, both.
Goodrow plays 4th line. I don't see how his presence has much effect on the restructuring of the other 3 lines. We could switch them up if we wanted to. Yeah, we could move Vesey to the 4th line in place of Goodrow and add Berard or someone else in the top 9, but the team is at the top of the league and the trade deadline is 5 days away. Goodrow was especially bad vs. Toronto, so maybe Drury has something up his sleeve. We'll see.

@GAGLine , for some reason I think how things shake out after TDL will determine Berard getting some NHL games the rest of the season. Also wanted to ask you - is there any scenario for this season that would make him arbitration eligible at the end of his current contract?

Vesey to he 4th line.

Kakko back to the 3rd.

Berard to Zibs line.

Pretty easy.

Easy to do. I've advocated for Berard to get a shot with Kreider and Zib. Doesn't mean it's going to work, though. Again, let's see what happens at the deadline, as it will probably make this conversation moot (meaning we'll have a new RW, not that I expect Berard to be traded).

Berard signed his ELC at age 21 (see ELC signing age on his CapFriendly page), so he only needs 3 years of pro experience to become arbitration eligible, which will be in 2 years, at the end of his current contract.

How much he plays or doesn't play in the NHL won't affect his arbitration status.

If you were wondering whether or not his contract can slide, no, it cannot. Only players ages 18 and 19 can have their contracts slide.

Regarding waivers eligibility, he needs 3 years from when he signed or 80 NHL games to become waiver eligible.

As has been discussed numerous times this year and even before the season started, Berard is on the same trajectory as Cuylle. A full year in the AHL with continual progression is what the hope was. It’s happening. In some ways a look in the NHL would be a good idea but wouldn’t it be best if that opportunity came at his natural position if LW? Just because it seems easy to switch sides doesn’t mean you take a rookie in his first NHL game and throw him over there.

Let’s play the what if game. Say the Rangers recall Berard and play him at RW and it goes poorly. Killing his confidence and derailing what has been an overly successful season already. That would happen in the same way he could come up and nail down that spot.

The team clearly likes the player. He’s getting more and more comfortable at the AHL level to the point that he’s probably the Wolfpacks best player on any given night. Just continue with the process

I’m ready to predict Berard will get a call-up after the deadline (when Kakko is gone). I’d love to see what him Cuylle and a veteran center could do on that 3rd line

Garand has played a bit more than Domingue this year. It's been an even split except for when Domingue was called up and the last 2 games where Garand played twice in a row.

Domingue's stats are consistent from last year, while Garand has shown a marked improvement.

Hopefully Garand can take another step next year as the #1 goalie in Hartford/#3 goalie after Igor and Quick.

Blade Jenkins makes it 1-0. Assists to Pekar and Hillman.

Pack looking really good. Outshooting them 6-0 so far.

Garand is in net for the 3rd straight game.
