Get ready to lose tomorrow to CBJ.

Travel, second night off back to back, team ride with illness and Halak most likely in net. Vanilla team that will most likely come out tomorrow with zero emotion and give a similar effort to tonight. Best case scenario is they get lucky a squeak out a win.

More importantly, forward group is completely inept with Kreider out of the lineup.

Sadly feels like a 0-5 PP and 4-1 or 5-2 loss kind of night

You know Johnny Gaudreau can't even sleep tonight he's salivating.

Trouba turning into Dan Girardi is exactly what we’re paying him for

TIL that there's a Torts meme generator online.

This team plays hard almost every night?
I think it’s semantics. They’re not “lazy” but they seem to lack urgency. It’s such an emotional game. Confidence and luck are critical but impossible to control. Maybe it’s a bit of a cop out but I think they’re playing hard but also, not hard enough.
On the other hand, these things can change on a dime. Even with some lackluster performances the team was 5-0-2 coming into today. I’m still pretty optimistic. For the team and the individual players.

My only hope is after an ECF berth, this team took a page out of the Cup-winning Kings teams and recent Lightning’s book of completely coasting during the regular season with an on/off switch for when they actually need to win games. It would validate the stretch they went on after Gallant almost got fired, but would also be funny they allowed him to almost get fired in the first place.

Why is it after every loss people are ready to jump off a bridge? Why? It was a disappointing loss but it was 1 loss. It could be a combination of playing a late afternoon game against a crap team after an epic win a few night before, missing 2 forwards, stomach bug going through team. Shit happens, doesn't mean we have to dismantle the team.

How do you know he was going to get fired in the first place? That's just fans talking and fans don't know shit.

Agreed.....Rarely do you see the Ranger pass hit a player in stride.

I also don't understand why the receiving players has to stop and settle the puck before continuing up the ice. This alone has killed many scoring chances.
Been saying this all year. Their puck skills suck:

-One-time opportunities in the offensive zone and a pass to a stationary teammate 15 feet away is not where he can shoot it - either too far behind or in front of, or the recipient sets up for a sweep shot and the pass ends up in the skates.
-Flat on-ice passes that are sent recklessly in the direction of a teammate in a fashion that results in the puck rolling, bouncing, or on edge to them.
-Soft touches in the D zone that are meant to be finesse plays but fail to clear the zone or reach the intended target.
-Blind passes from behind the goal line in the offensive zone that end up clearing the zone because literally no one is there to receive them.
-The lack of any willingness by the entire forward group in a sustained offensive zone shift to just throw the puck at the net and try to win a battle in front (puck towards the net always seems to come from the - except Adam Fox - generally less skilled D) - AKA exactly what Panarin did against Dallas that led to the tying goal which is something this team does not seem capable of with more than 5 seconds remaining in a period.
-The unwillingness of the PP to try any down-low overload plays, especially when the PK is deploying a large box aggressively against the point.
-The tendency to play the puck when reaching for it, vs. controlling it and making a stronger play.
-The tendency to make a much higher percentage of defensive and transition plays on the backhand vs. other teams, which results in weaker and more inaccurate plays.
-A general inability by most of the forward group to protect the puck with the forward leg and drive the net in traffic.
