Actually, the contract is signed and the payment is set for years. The viewership numbers this year will have no year to year impact on revenue.

It'll pass. Some of us older fans have seen it all. Yashin, Chara, Alfie, Heatley, Spezza... More players will come along. Be glad we atleast had great moments with Karlsson, and had him in his prime, winning a few Norrises and had a phenomenal playoff run. Unlike Chara who we let go too soon, for free, became captain of the Bruins and won a Norris with them.

In 2000 we could have signed Gary Roberts but the team had no money. With him the Sens could have gone to the finals instead of losing to the Leafs in multiple years.
