The only connection I feel strongly about with the team right now is the prospects. I hope as many as possible go on to have successful and lengthy NHL careers. When I watch the team this season (and likely the next few after that) it won't be with passion and energy that I've spent the last 20 years watching Sens hockey.

I'll be cheering for the Sharks this season and maybe beyond. Anyone joining me?
I will cheer for the lads wearing the Sens crest, but won't support Melnyk with a penny. #EmptyCTC #MelnykOut #ProbablyYes

I will definitely be watching King Karlsson go for the cup this season with San Jose. Then #ReturnOfTheKing in July 1 under new owners.

Finally composed myself enough to watch Karlsson's presser and now I'm sad again. You can see clear as day that it didn't have to end this way, and that despite how bad this team may have become, Karlsson would not have left had ownership and management been serious and forthcoming about wanting him here.

I'll probably watch the first several games in October but when we end up losing most or all of them I'll probably tune out the rest of the season.

Leafs havent won since 1967
Habs traded freakin subban for old injury prone weber

Still cheer for habs
it's just easier to deal with incompetency than it is to deal with self-sabotage. We have a healthy dose of both.

i just didn't realize we were as incompetent as has been made clear

Murray's decade of mediocrity from 2008-2017 has never looked so attractive.

Whether I agree or not, it's still funny.

Have you ever seen more than 2-3 posts of mine on the Canadiens' board ?

I'm deeply afraid of what I would find there...

I used to go over there back before we played each other in the playoffs. ;)

I don't want to be one of those "Sens fan coming in peace" assholes that everyone hates.

For me the Melnyk hate started on the day we lost Alfredsson in free agency and it ended yesterday when we traded Karlsson away to the Sharks.

I say it ended yesterday not because I suddenly view Melnyk in a positive light, but because I simply don't care anymore. I used to love the sens; travel to Kanata and watch the rookies play in camp, spend money on tickets/mech., stay up late on weeknights watching the sens travel from arena to arena across the western conference. Now, I have absolutely no interest or emotional attachment to the team.

I understand the NHL is a business and Melnyk being the owner has the right to run the organization however he sees fit. The thing is, Melnyk's actions/comments have made me view the sens as exactly that - a business - and not as an NHL organization I love and support. A large factor in the Sens success is dependent on the financial support of fans and their emotional investment into the team. For Melnyk's sake I hope there's not many other fans who share my opinion.

This is spot on and really well put.

I understand that the organization is a business, but it shouldn't be the first thing the fans think of when they think of the team. Sadly, it seems to be front and center now.
