I don't blame you at all, and anybody who thinks less of you should put the Kool-Aid down and look in the mirror.

Its not that the Sens are going to be a bad team, it's not that we're going to lose. It's that we're being run by a front office that is conniving with its actions, tone-deaf to the desires of the fanbase, and ultimately incapable of running the franchise in the fashion it should be run.

So long as Melnyk and his cadre of yes-men are at the helm, this franchise is on life-support, and any talk of a "rebuild" is just folly because they've proven time and time again that they will not pay the price needed to truly make this team competitive. If some people want to stick around and pretend that they're better people because they're willing to accept and suffer through whatever terrible action Melnyk cares to take, power to them, but some of us have better things to do than sit around commiserating for years to come.

Yeah people need to take a look around. We've been unwinding salary for almost a decade now. Dany Heatley was traded to start the 2009-2010 season.

Karlsson was a superstar with high hockey IQ and proved he didn't need to skate to have a huge impact on the game. When he's healthy he can skate with the best of them. The opportunity was there for Melnyk and Dorion to show they were serious and they'd keep good players worth money. They chose to trade that player and for a bunch of nobodies and conditional draft picks.

Fair enough you don't want to spend unless you can contend... Karlsson is a the piece you build around to contend. After lying to us for months they say "nope, we're not building around Karlsson and we have no plan". I suspect they weren't actually lying and they were planning to sign Karlsson but they probably bungled the negotiations and Dorion panic traded with pressure from Melnyk (who played a part in the bungling of the negotiations).

Sure. I love this team and enjoy watching the games. I don't like Melnyk but I have some sympathy for the rotten team financial situation. I'd rather watch hockey than not and I expect things will get better. I'll stand by the team, even through this gong show. I love Karlsson, but not above my team. As much as people say it's not about winning and losing, the only reason people care about the owner or money is because they know that's tied to winning. Basically I'm a fan of my team, even when it is acting incompetently.

So will you spend money on this team??

I've had to take a few hours just to somewhat gather my thoughts before writing something down, and still all I personally can say is that I also might be done with the team until Melnyk leaves. I'm just as stunned as Karlsson and I will not forgive management for this trade.

You arent alone.

Im already knee deep in stress with my mothers battle with cancer.

Ive been on the fence with boycotting a Melnyk owned team for a little while now, and said that I would wait and see what happens with EK before I decide if its worth pulling the plug or not.

I walked into this week with a bit of optimism for the future, and first we got the Boro video, and now this.

So im also personally done until the obvious changes are made up top.
All the best to you and your mother, I feel you on that front. It's incredible how much these tragic circumstances change your perspective on what's really important.

I'm out too, will be cheering on and watching the Leafs this season. There is nothing to cheer for in Ottawa with Melnyk in charge.

Best wishes guys.

I'm thinking of going the Habs route tbh.

Damn, no man, don't let this make you do something that drastic!

I'm thinking I might get a Karlsson Sharks jersey. They've always had a soft spot in my heart and now I can cheer for them guilt-free, and more or less push the Sens aside for a few years.

I am done with the Sens (and the NHL) until Melnyk sells. These days you have so many
entertainment options, it just makes no sense to invest so much time and spend so much money for a hopeless cause.

Would be awesome to see the Canadian Tire Centre full of Sharks Karlsson jerseys that day.

Why is it always San Jose who does this to us?! Heatley, Hoffman, Karlsson.

STOP HURTING ME WILSON!

I don't know how people have the desire to cheer for other teams (not a criticism). I'll just watch a lot less and I won't attend. I can't get invested in other teams. Even Vegas I watched their first game and followed them a little... but I couldn't get into it.
