thats just the idiot kind of thing we might expect eh?..
What do you guys think of this? The talk is we are going to try and get one solid D. Do we not need at Least 2? I dont think we will go amy further then round 2 without 2-3 D changes IMO

If that is it, ouch. After the recent departures of the last year's draft class if it's not all in this year were looking at another rough handful of years.

If it’s just one, hopefully a better than just solid D like Keane. I’d call Gordeev & Brahaney a solid pairing that could be used as OA or traded in off season to recoup picks.

I *might* even consider selling.

Trade away #19 for picks and young player. Roll with that into the playoffs and hope you upset someone while playing the higher energy kids.

If they go all in (or some resemblance of that), the future is BLEAK. I mean look at all the kids dealt out with little to nothing coming back. Picks in three years aren't going to help this team until at least 2023. I can't go through another few basement years so soon after the last ones.

Hillis out 6-8 weeks. It's probably time to sell, before there's nobody left buying

How many times has a potential contending team sold off huge assets in a buyers market? This year has turned into a huge disaster.

I think you need to buy considering the circumstances. It would be ideal if you bought a couple 99's with value who'd be around next year. That way, if you chose to sell off in the off season and into next year, they'd bring some decent value in trade. Rangers have four such 99's but they'll be looking for at least one young body in return. If you targeting Yantsis and Garreffa, I'd assume Woolley plus picks plus conditionals would have to come the other way.

Swapping out Poirier for a stud OA makes sense too. And could be done cheaper than trying to acquire a 99 stud that may cost you a Chayka. Could Eliot be had for just picks?

Truth be told though, not having immediate help for a playoff run come back in either the Primeau or Bertuzzi deals hurts.

I see Chayka; as one of top five all time D...heez only just turned 16... to trade hime for some aged ham bone..on the CHANCE said ham bones will blend on this roster under a time constraint... under this coach ....to MAYBE get 2-3 rounds($$$$$ eh)..is really DUMB..but quite within the realm of expectations here in Guelp.

I think its been on the wall since training camp Fudge.. but the bridge has been making smoke through out...just hoping they don't turn a serious fracture into a terrible compound fracture.... the bleed could be fatal.

I’m planning on attending both games. I like coming to Hamilton to watch a game. I’m always a sucker for a bag of those tiny donuts.

It should be an interesting game with Bertuzzi playing his former club back to back.

Cool, if you want to swing by I'll be seating in the club location, 112C row 8 (behind the Bulldogs bench) seat 103 if you want to swing by and put a face to the name.

Chayka is untouchable. Don't know how many times it's going to take until people realize it.

NHL teams are already calling on him.

I don't think you understand the value Merkley
(offense wise at least)and Hillis bring/brought to this team.

Hillis will be back before playoffs. Merkley was a culture improvement move. It just sucks that the only player returned for Merkley, Primeau and Bertuzzi was Gogolev. That is where the deadline trades are crucial. I think trading the 2nd year players makes it unlikely we trade the '99's. So we're stuck. They will either turn those picks into a run this year or stand pat and lose out on assets for 19 and 16. That's what the cards are showing.

Speaking of cards, does anyone know how many cards the Storm has open?

I can see Burnett using the aquired picks and some prospects to pick up a couple of additions. Defensively we could use a stay at home type guy. Up front I feel that were are okay, but that being said an up grade at one OA position would be nice. Hate dumping OAs but as it has been said often, this is a busy and sometimes players are replaced. But if he includes Chayka or Woolley he should be run out of town after being tarred and feathered.
Was Hillis' injury resultant of the knee on knee last game?

He left the game immediately after the knee on knee.

Which is why I suggested acquiring the players I mentioned in my post.

How acquiring those players would be better than trying to acquire a stud 99 because teams would want those discussions to start and end with Chayka.

I remember seeing “Fire Brooks” signs in the crowd back in the day. How long before we see the the same for Burnett?
