Del Rio wasn't really out of left field when he won though.

He was among favourites and was my pre-rumble pick that year.

He was getting pushed to the moon as soon as he entered the company.
 
As someone who is turning 23 in April, young me was hoping Cena would win. Glad I got swerved though.

Exactly. We rightfully complain about predictable winners all the time. Yeah it's left field but he is legit over and there is a story to build with him constantly not being able to best Gunther.
