I don’t really know what to think of it.
On the one hand, Necas is a big step down from Rantanen and only has one more year left on his deal. And by all accounts, the Canes didn’t sign him long term because he was asking for the moon. So I don’t really get the trade from the Avs side from that perspective.
On the other hand, Rantanen was asking for Draisaitl, and he really isn’t in the same tier as Drasaitl. And I am thinking that Colorado must feel his stats are largely inflated due to playing with MacKinnon, and so weren’t going to pay him too dollar. But even if this is the case, they could run into this same problem with Necas who they can’t extend until July.
I don’t mind it. It’s good both EP and JT know that they’re not bigger than the teamNothing builds team unity like management trying to trade half the core LMAO.
The threat of being traded has proven to be a great motivator across all sports.I don’t mind it. It’s good both EP and JT know that they’re not bigger than the team
This will be good for team morale.
Who cares? There hasn’t been any team unity this entire season.Nothing builds team unity like management trying to trade half the core LMAO.

Seems that way, Rantanen was the guy they wanted, used Vancouver to put pressure on the Avs.Carolina played Nucks like a fiddle.
Be curious how long they had been talking to Colorado but it couldn’t have just been today.
Masterclass by them.
Got Rantanen for peanuts.
