I think we all get the impression he's a petulant kid and can't channel negativity productively through all the hard times we've seen him go through. No sense in dunking on him for the millionth time. He's just like that and they're his beliefs and he can say what he wants.

Should have had 2-3 goals in first 5 minutes, but blew those opportunities.
Rielly, was not good, he floated at times and chased the puck on the tying goal.
Leafs are weak clearing the defensive zone, time after time they get the puck to the blueline but not over.
I don't see much value from the 8.5mm used for Domi and Bertuzzi.

I'd file any Keefe firing under "change can be good." He's not Scotty Bowman Jr. over here and as a fan it couldn't hurt to see new stuff.
We looked like garbage defensively, Nylander, JT and Marner were bad.
No, everyone was not good, we blew another 2 goal lead.

He wasn't that great for Detroit or Boston either. People just got fooled by some small sample point totals, without really looking into how those inflated totals came to be, his 11 goal 40-point pace with Detroit last season, or how he actually performed overall.

I thought Rielly was pretty strong overall tonight but yeah can't disagree on everything else.
My sense is that MLSE is probably such a bogged down corporate bureaucracy, it would take 5 or 6 people and at least a week to greenlight any coaching change.

I think the Shanaplan is an overcorrection on maintaining stability where past eras were very unstable. A lot of good has happened over the years but they do need to take a beat, make some changes and realize the program has gotten very stale.

A 2 goal lead is blown literally every night by teams all over the league.
Its literally a nothing lead in todays NHL.
You think a 2 goal lead is safe for ANY team you are simply delusional. Theres too much skill on every team. Save percentage is the lowest its been in decades league wide.

Keefe had good defensive teams in recent years. They made Campbell and Samsonov look good for gods sake.

True, but he doesn't do himself any good when he doesn't accept reality or responsibility.
But I think everyone knows he should not be speaking to the press.
Some players can do it, he isn't one of them.
