Good thing the league is gonna get us in. CHI wins 4-1

You called the game, just like you said you would.

I wanted to throw my remote when I saw this.

Keep watching Chicago's 3rd goal. Wow. That's Mike Richards' last two seasons in LA in one shift. Unbelievable. I can't get over how bad this guy got, wtf happened to him.

That's not good enough. We walked out of the road trip in the same spot we walked into it. How is that any measure of success?

It's a successful road trip under normal circumstances. Under desperation circumstances it's a small failure.

Calgary has won back to back games on the road vs Nashville and Dallas. That's impressive. Still can't get over the fact that this was the 2nd game of a back to back for Chicago. We truly suck at playing teams on the 2nd game of a back to back, wow.

Nashville had clinched a playoff spot the night before. So trust me they were in letdown mode for that game. And Dallas has been very inconsistent this year. But did watch about 10 minute of the Dallas game tonight and they were outplaying Calgary in that time. If that was the way the whole game was Calgary stole that game in a big way.

Sure, but if we started the trip 0-2 and then went 3-0, what would the tune around here be?

(not directed at you, rhetorical question)

I think the current anger and vitriol that immediately surrounds a loss would obviously not be here right now had that happened, but we'd still be eating the same **** sandwich. Not to mention had we beaten good teams like Chicago and Minnesota it would certainly bode better for the remaining schedule and the confidence in the team.

Doesn't matter if the Kings can still get 100 points.

What matters is they're trailing 2 other teams that have a leg up on them. Because of that, their fate isn't in their own hands. It's partly in the hands of Calgary and Winnipeg.

Even if the Kings go 6-0 and reach 100 points, if Calgary goes 4-1-1 and Winnipeg goes 5-1, the Kings are out. That's a challenge for Calgary and Winnipeg but for the Kings to go 6-0 is really thin. They've done that twice this season and the 1st time was at the start of the season with all home games and, I believe, a full healthy roster. Now 3 of their last 6 are on the road, Pearson's still out and Doughty looks fried. I don't see us outplaying Winnipeg and Calgary by 3/4 points over this final stretch. Would love to be wrong though.

Great post.

Meh.. flush this one down the toilet gang. It's not worth getting that worked up about.

Look at the Kings next 6. If they can't win at least 4 of those, they don't deserve to be in anyway. They're all winnable games. All 6 of them.

Actually in that case the Kings would make the 8th seed. They have the ROW over Winnipeg.

If the Kings make 100 points there is no way they don't make the playoff's. They hold the ROW over the Jets. Even at 96 points (that's 4-2 over the last six) The Kings probably get in.

I agree. If they don't beat Edmonton, Colorado, etc then they don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyways. Can't count on Calgary or Winnipeg losing games anymore, they've taken care of their games. The Kings haven't. Now it's time to put up or shut up.

That's just what 6 teams are saying about last year's Stanley Cup winning team.

It'd probably be a little more positive, and that'd be just a bit justified. Overall, it doesn't matter where/when the points come from as long as they come. That's true. But, if the team was on a 3 game win streak there'd obviously be more positive signs to point to and it's a hint the team is more likely on the right track. People would feel a bit of momentum and the players might feel that too. Losing the last 2 of a 5 game run and looking lethargic despite a days rest doesn't exactly inspire confidence in most people, and for good reason. You can never count this team out until it's mathematically gone. We never know with this team, but still. You can only pull the revolver's trigger so many times before the hammer strikes a bullet.

I still maintain this was a throw away game. The upcoming games are more important. At least they didn't expend too much energy with this game.

Wow, all of a sudden our season depends on Sekera's health? We haven't had this guy for 3/4 of the season.

For whatever it's worth, it's a positive that he didn't have crutches. If he's walking, which I'm assuming he was, it can't be that bad. I dunno, just some food for thought.
