You've been saying this same thing since yesterday, for a guy who doesn't care/follow international hockey you seem to care a lot.
Here I'll summarize

Person A: They'll say they don't care
Person B: I don't
Person A: SEE HE DID IT OMG HE DID IT
Person B: Yes. I did.
Person A: OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Forgive me for my consistency in what is my point of view. I'll try to mix it up later

Was entertaining game and as a Fin I was prepared for devastating loss on OT but got really happy with the win. I feel shamed of some discussion seen in this thread, why we can't be civilized when we win. Why some of us want to be pricks and rub it. I enjoy hockey win or lose, more when winning but games like this bring me back again and again. It wasn't greatly officiated game that is for sure but calls went both ways IMHO.
Looking past refs both sides gave best effort and can be proud of themselves. For Finland the path to final was guite difficult so we appreacite this really much.
And it is always David vs. Goliath when against Canada whatever people say.

Loved watching CAN NHL stars (PLD, Barzal, Chabot, even Lowry) in these games as it brings totally new challenge for mostly European based teams (playerpool).

Some really classy fans both sides so not trying to generalize this.

Next year it is again same thing, everyone has a chance to pave their way to the gold.
I think this is a fair take on things. Yes the refs miss stuff every game but rarely does it lead directly to 2 goals for one team. On top of that having it be the championship game is pretty sad. The Heiskanen play, the Canadian player was crouched over making it near impossible for him to high stick someone and the back referee makes the call. The OT penalty, Chabot had his stick in there but that is a pathetic dive and not in the spirit of sport. Refs need to be better in overtime of the championship game.

Good one, but this whole post above was invalidated yesterday. You see, person who doesn't care, sees a thread like "Gold medal game Canada-Finland" and keeps scrolling.

Few selected Canadians always feels the urge to come down from their ivory tower whenever Canada loses. Whether it's a loss against Denmark (players didn't take it seriously) or final loss (nobody cares)

When a country has 6 times the amount of registered hockey players to any other country, it's quite obvious that they are and always will be the most succesful country.

That you bud? might be why I'm here

What do you know, it was!

One thing I want to mention. Yes, the penalty that got us 1-1 goal shouldn't have happened. But neither should've happened the 3-2 goal from Canada. Refs made mistakes both sides. Canada imo deserved to get to overtime, it was anyones game on OT.

I think the bad calls were about the same in the end.
The net was on the peg and the goalie was able to make a play on the 3-2 goal. There should have been an embellishment call in OT.

What you got right was there were bad calls all around. The 3-2 goal was not one of the many bad calls.

I dont think anyone is trying to takeaway how Finland has played on the international level. It's been phenomenal. But that dive was awful and should have been called.

I don't mean the net was off, I meant that cross check that happened which should've been a penalty against a Canadian.

I don't think it was the actual goal that was the problem but that Heiskanen got crosschecked into the post right before.

I'll give you the dive but at the same time Björninen got a vasectomy á la Quebec.
Should have continued 3v3 and Finland would have scored anyways because why not.

I was talking about yesterday, but i guess it was just some of your "i don't care" friends who invited you to join the choir. "Yo goony let's make them know that we don't care"
I joined the conversation to make fun of Barzal and saw a bunch of people wetting their diapers over the Shane Doan Cup. They still are too apparently!

Want my life story that led to this moment or do I not have to explain myself to strangers seeking fights about the relevance of the Roman Cervenka Under-22/Over-32 Championship?

I just can't get enough. This is a great moment. Finland with the 4th World Championship title, with the best coach. And despite I would love every time some players to be different, he knows how to pick a winning team. Also during the games I sometimes wish refs to make different calls, this picture tells me all. 2022 World Champions are clear and we should stop whining on it. Done and closed!

Finland goes 3-1 and "Canada is superior" mode get's activated. Same thing if Canada wins "Lmao we won with our Z-team". You don't seem to understand that people who doesn't care and have some manners, will congratulate and move on.

I'd like to see how many Swede, Finn or Czech was laughing at you after Turin olympics 2006 that you have superior amount of players and culture but still failed to get a medal.
How will Canadian hockey fans ever recover from this defeat at the 2022 Ryan Smyth Invitational

Not a given Finland would have scored anyways. A given was that embarrassing flop and the advantage it gave to one team. Horrible way to end a good tournament.

Not as questionable as that pathetic dive.

The "our Z team" and "this is the 2022 Ryan Smyth Invitational" are not mutually exclusive points of view.

You seem more concerned about who is saying them than the undeniable accuracy of them

I will never disrespect the Peter Cehlarik Open ever again

Sure it is. I mean it's just fantasy or wishful thinking at this point so I might as well give the hypothetical goal to Finland. Olkinuora with a 5-hole.

Crybaby still crying? A whole night of crying didn´t help. poor you <3
Strange comment considering the content of my post. No crying here just responding to the irony of your post. I should also keep in mind English is likely your second language. Perhaps you're just having trouble with understanding what I wrote.

And if we'll win it wouldn't count because Canada would win it in best of 7 series of course.

But a quick reminder u20's and u18's are close being best on best and Finland have won a good portion of those.
I mean you haven't won one.... Ever... Right now Finland is quite clearly number 5 when you look at the rosters. There is only one best on best.... U18's/U20's are a specific age group where even in those not all the best players are available to participate. I admire how proud of a group of people you are and the passion behind hockey. It's great for the sport to have another country other than Sweden Canada Russia and USA pushing. But claiming you're the best when you've never won a best on best is a stretch.

The "we won with our Z team" and "this is the 2022 Ryan Smyth Invitational" are not mutually exclusive points of view. They are two sides of the same, accurate, assessment
First is pretty pointless argument because a) your Z team is still the strongest in the tournament due to the amount of your players and b) every other big country has their lower class team there.

Point being, downplaying this tournament for other fans is much like other countries laughing to Canada why they fail to win U20 tournaments even though they have superior resources and player masses. I don't see anyone doing that though.

Chances are high you get a penalty if you put stick between legs. Canada got away many calls earlier so maybe they felt they needed to whistle.

Grow up and stop being so easily hurt online

Are we still talking about the 2022 Vadim Shipachyov Tournament of NHL Dropouts? or the fact you just don't like the tournament's quality being mocked when it's a Canadian doing it?

The ref beside the play didn't call the high stick on sillinger but the ref 100 feet away did. Finland scored 2 goals on the phantom call and Deidger got hurt... Bad calls happen and Finland took advantage thats the sport but calling this an evenly reffed game is preposterous. Missed calls on both sides like always but I find it shocking/interesting the denial going on in the thread.

Congratulations Finland you're the champion, good teams find ways to get it done and they did. Anything to win. No ones going to look back in 20 years and say otherwise.

There's a difference of being hurt and pointing out childish behaviour. Well you are correct, pointless arguments should just be ignored.
Someone who isn't hurt would just move on and post polite things like "congratulations on silver at the 2022 Petteri Nummelin Showcase" and move on
