Softy of the night is this Lucas Raymond goal on Mikko Koskinen

There were so many horrible goals last night that could have made it, but when there’s so many and I need a tiebreaker because I can’t decide, the safe bet is to always make it a goal where the goalie turned the puck over. As not just that the goals are stoppable, but the chances are also caused by the goalie.

Koskinen channeling his Mike Smith here with his puck play.

Koskinen becomes the second goalie to hit 40 goals stoppable this year from me, but he's still 6 behind Grubauer's 46. It's getting crowded over by second and third place, but the race still isn't close for first unless Grubauer either stops allowing goals like that or just gets benched/injured and can't play for a couple weeks.

Hellebuyck and Nedeljkovic have only one more to go to hit 40. Merzlikins and Hart are close with 38 and Fleury with 37.

Softy of the night is this John Klingberg goal on Jake Allen

It was hard to pick one from last night because nothing really stuck out too much, but I don’t like how cleanly Allen’s glove gets abused here. Just straight up abused.

Shades of 2011 Subban right there! :sarcasm:

I wouldn't have even nailed Thomas on that, as it was one timed and just about impossible for him to be in position.

The one the other night was not one timed and it was a dribbler through Markstrom that he was in perfect position for.

Oh that goal on Thomas was definitely not a softie in the slightest. I just enjoy old Subban highlights, he was electrifying in the past.

Because clean wraparounds like this should not be going in the net in 2022 and normally don’t go in the net in 2022.

Wraparounds suck and wraparounds where the goalie doesn’t know what the f*** is going on suck even more.

Softy of the night is Troy Terry on Jussi Saros

I couldn’t find the video all night and had to wait until the game ended so I could watch the entire game highlights video just to see this goal. When you look it up on the app on or NHL.com it comes up as the highlight video for the 2020 all star game. Despite the fact that the thumbnail for it is from this goal. That was a goof on the part of whoever puts these videos up.

I can already see an uproar and people being pissed at me for even making it a stoppable goal. It really doesn’t deserve a softy of the night, so since I can’t find the actual video of it here to post, it won’t get a proper softy of the night video.

Softy of the night is this Marc-Edouard Vlasic goal on Jacob Markstrom

This is definitely one of the worst goals I’ve seen all year. I can’t see this being topped at the very least for softy of the month for March.

Nothing about this goal was good. The shot sucked, the player shooting the puck sucks at shooting and scoring and basically sucks at everything NHL hockey anymore.

That was a real muffin that floated all the way in. This was like a beachball goal.

After being fairly solid all season, Markstrom has like 3 softies of the night in basically the last week.
