Softy of the night is this Lawson Crouse goal on Blackwood

Just by default due to lack of options.

I thought that goal was a bad bounce more than a softy. I saw your earlier explanation of it and I get it. It's just that Crouse is on his rear and the puck bounces to the one place where he could play it.
I don't even know if they show the rear camera angle on that particularly video, I think they do, but they gave a really good one during the 2nd intermission last night and I rewound it and couldn't get over how bad it looked. If I hadn't seen that, I'd still count this as a stoppable goal, but it looks way worse on that view. That puck could have really hit him, but he's coasting to the post and the puck beats him to it. He looked like condensation was just moving him and he wasn't moving at all. Kind of like when you have a can of soda that's sweating (or beer or whatever beverage you like) and it starts moving on your table by itself after it sweats from being cold.

As far as softy of the night, the only goals I marked stoppable on the night came in our game. I thought this goal was a little worse than the first goal on Blackwood which I counted stoppable also. And I thought it was worse than the goal Vejmelka allowed to Nico, which wasn't terrible.

Gibson looked like he allowed a weak one, but it clearly goes off Shattenkirk's skate and in and I didn't give him a stoppable for that one.

Campbell allowed one from a bad angle to the Rangers, but it was from really close range and it was even deflected and it didn't go through him. He was just down and it went in the top of the net on a pretty close range shot. So I didn't mark that as stoppable.

Softy of the night is this Lars Eller goal on Ullmark

This is a pretty good softy of the night. Brian Boucher really calls him out for this one. I’m not sure if every announcer would. That one was going high over the net and he deflects it in with his glove. He was terrible tonight. The other two goals he allowed weren’t good either. They won that game very much in spite of him.

Too many softies for their to be one softy of the night, so here’s a bunch

Mike Matheson on Korpisalo

Nyquist on DeSmith. Still not sure if Nyquist faked or just fanned on the first shot.

DeSmith had another bad one, but it was a bit unlucky as it was caused by the puck coming off the glass and bouncing back out into play in front of him.

Pius Suter on Holtby

Ryan Suter on Nedeljkovic

Kiviranta on Nedeljkovic. What a muffin this was. “He could have caught that one with a barehand”.

Lindell on Nedeljkovic

Vinni Lettieri on Vasilevskiy

Boone Jenner on DeSmith. Unlucky for DeSmith as it went off the boards or glass for a lucky bounce, but the way it went in was really ugly.

Dylan Larkin on Holtby. Another one that was sort of unlucky in that it probably shouldn’t have went up and over Holtbt after he made the save, but this was just really goofy looking. It just looked bad.

Softy of the night is this Isac Lundestrom goal on Tuukka Rask

Even the video description says “Scores a soft short handed goal” lol.

And if this wasn’t good enough I know I can replace it with another one of tonight’s goals on Rask.

I'll laugh if the Bruins throw away yet another playoff year on Tuukka Rask. I know he's just getting back into things but I watched their game against Anaheim and he was awful tonight.

It’s amazing how the stoppable goal count for the night starts out pretty low and then Grubauer and Koskinen’s games come on at 10:00 and the night ends with a percentage that’s right in line with the season average.

Softy of the night is this Claude Giroux goal on Ilya Sorokin

There were a couple of these last night, but this one looks a little worse than the Ryan McLeod goal on Spencer Martin because this one goes through his legs.
