Softy of the night is this Pastrnak goal on Vasilevskiy

This is one of the worst goals I’ve seen all season so far. This looked like a dump in almost from the blue line.

Softy of the night is this Filip Hronek goal on Lukas Dostal

Not really a softy and wouldn’t be softy of the night most nights, but there were only 2 games and 9 goals scored and this is the only one I counted stoppable. Thought it beat him two clean to the glove. Not really a bad goal though, very forgivable and a nice fake and shot by Hronek. You don’t see goals after fake shots so much.

Softy of the night is this Marchand goal on Montembeault

Only 3 goals stoppable tonight, but this certainly looked like the most stoppable. Because it actually was stopped. The John Moore shot that he should have gloves but didn’t get enough of and it leads to a loose puck and Marchand gets it for an easy one.

Softy of the night is this Patrick Kane goal on Montembeault

There were I think 4 dead angle goals last night and a couple were lucky, like the one off Markstrom’s mask and in, but this is was the lousiest. Montembeault looks so bad here. Watches it come through and just doesn’t shut it down quick enough.

Not really that bad of a goal, but it gets softy of the night by default.

Binnington looked really bad on this one. Didn’t even know it went in for a couple seconds and thought he had it.

Softy of the night is this Pettersson goal on Samsonov

I really hate having to apologize for my choice of softy of the night, but it’s been happening a lot lately with some weaker (or not so weak) softy of the night goals, due to a lower number of games on the schedule because of all the postponements. There were only supposed to be 2 games today anyway (only one was postponed), but there’s been too many nights where multiple games are postponed and it cuts the night’s schedule down significantly.

This wasn’t terrible, he only allows the bad angle goal because he’s out of position from making previous saves, but it was a little worse than the other stoppable goal I nailed him on and the Ovechkin one timer through the 5-hole on Demko. There was one other borderline one timer goal on the power play I almost nailed Samsonov on.

Softy of the night is this Chandler Stephenson goal on Jarry

I’m not sure if this is the first softy of the night I’ve given Jarry this season, but it probably is. It’s only the 9th goal I’ve counted stoppable on him this year out of 62 allowed, which is one of the lowest percentages in the league.

It was either between this and Kopitar on Reimer.
