This did deflect a little bit, so maybe I shouldn’t have made it softy of the night, but these are the types of deflections that goalies have a lot of the time. So it’s still getting a stoppable goal from me.

This is really softy of the month caliber, along with that goal Blackwood allowed to Sanheim last night. It’s so fitting who the goal scorer was too. First goal in almost 50 games and it was by no means a pretty one.

And his pads are the ugliest I’ve seen all season and I can almost guarantee I won’t see uglier.

Softy of the night is this Esa Lindell goal on Cam Talbot



When I see only one game on the schedule I often wonder if there will be a worthy softy of the night, but this is a really good one.

Not only did Talbot give it away by clearing it all the way to Lindell over 100 feet down the ice, but the shot that beat him was as bad as the giveaway itself. He had a very good chance to make up for it by saving this very routine shot between the pads and just doesn’t do it. What a brutal goal. Lindell’s first of the season in 29 games played.

With tonight’s stoppable goal hat trick, Talbot becomes just the third goalie to hit 20 stoppable goals from me this year.

I have him and Koskinen tied for second with 21 goals stoppable each.

Grubauer leads the league with 27 and I think he hit 20 a couple weeks ago.
